You are REALLY missing the point, or you are just trolling. My mother’s generation did not have a choice. They stayed home because they weren’t taken seriously in the job market and actually could not do anything without the permission of their husbands, hold credit cards, get birth control, etc., etc.

I wonder if Sarabeth will feel anger when she actually has to balance a job and kids and, as she says, fit in a workout? I wonder if Sarabeth will feel that anger when she gets into mid and upper career level and gets passed over? I wonder when as she ages, she’ll get angry that her mombod is judged far more harshly

Let’s also add to the list people who watch Sons of Anarchy and sympathize with the characters, people who think American History X was a good movie and sympathize with the characters, and people who think Sherlock from the new BBC series is a sexy and/or cool.

Ah... yes. ‘Choice’ feminism. How cute!

“It’s just bitchy.”

You’re really not sure why, or you’re coyly “not sure why?” If it’s the former, consider re-reading the article.

Kudos for your brilliant impersonation of Betty Draper right down to the choice of name and the evocation of pursed lips, her trademark. We need to honor Betty’s memory in the final hours. I plan to wear a 50s housedress with pearls and high heels.

One of the main points of this article was that not very long ago, women WERE obligated to do domestic work because they were women, and they weren’t allowed to do anything else. Have fun with your bread.

I’m 56 and cannot understand why younger generations AREN’T as angry. Give it time. It grinds you down - even with the battles won, the shit is still there.

Modern feminism certainly suffers from a distinct lack of anger. Many feminists have become complacent and lazy, have learned to sit on old laurels and placate the men by “choosing” to cooperate with patriarchy and then call that “empowerment” because it was supposedly their “choice” to do so, even though the word

If you think anything has changed for the better you haven’t been in the workforce long enough. Angry should still be the default position.

I will never understand how feminists can *not* be angry. This anger that permeates feminism is absolutely justified, and since women are currently losing ground and gains are being unmade, I would expect the least we can do is understand why. At which point does being a second-class citizen become something we should

I could never have or work with children. I just can not do that cutsey language. I’d want to hurl myself into a volcano. Elementary school educators have my highest respect.

That “criss cross applesauce” thing really bothers me. Why is “cross legged” bad? Every time I hear “criss cross applesauce” I want to set things on fire.

I want you to know that I have no clue who Sean or Troy are but I know who you are and I would wait in a long line for you to sign my poster of you.

Okay, this will mark me as SO OLD, but I totally thought that was Bobby Sherman.

This is sooooo disappointing, especially with how completely charming and wonderful Norman Reedus is with fans.

ok, thanks for Mansplaining things for me
