My aunt is a nurse and one of the bravest people I know. She supported her mother, aunt, and sister during their hospice - without her, none of them would have died at home, like they wanted. That’s the most loyal thing I’ve ever known someone to do and I honestly don’t know if I’m capable of such selflessness and

The average RN job does not pay close to 6 figures. You would have to a) have a masters or PhD in a specialty area or b) be doing enough overtime to kill you.

Be sure to hold onto that resentment for the rest of your life.

My experience with nurses has been overwhelmingly positive. I’ve had one nightmare experience and a couple of unpleasant experiences, but they were definitely in the minority.

I’m pretty upset with how Jezebel readers are being so incredibly dismissive and actually shitty about this.
Nursing is a predominantly female occupation and as such has routinely been dismissed as a less than vocation for exactly that reason. We have to fight to be taken seriously ALL the time. I get shitty comments

Nurses are kind, something Joy Behar seems never to have been.

My son had surgery yesterday. He had amazing nurses. They were attentive, thorough, and compassionate.

So many nurses are saints; they literally do the heavy lifting; they catch errors in combined perscriptions; they are the ones to whom patients turn for emotional support and actual understanding of diagnoses in the face of distant/rushed doctors. And they are paid next to nothing. There are many and varied reasons

Finally someone with the courage to speak out against nurses. Soup kitchen volunteers pay heed, you’re next!

Every nurse that I know is a) stronger than I; b) very loyal; and c) not to be fucked with.

That’s... that’s not what Kelly Rowland looks like.

I only look at them for the pictures. Reverse Playboy justification.

ok but how gay is james blunt?

People still think rubbing a puppy’s nose in its own piss on the carpet is an effective way of potty training it

For fuck’s sake. The only time this “parenting technique” will work is if the kid dies. So congratulations. He’ll never drink again.

Paulette Richardson told authorities her son’s biological father was an alcoholic, and that she didn’t want him to turn out the same way.

This is her alter ego, Dim Kavis.

I believe that’s “I’m missing teeth” face...

I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, but there are two people in my life who have a sibling with severe disabilities. They both have parents with poor financial planning habits and they will probably end up taking over their sibling’s care. Having more than one kid does not guarantee an automatic built-in friendship, but

It’s an obnoxious thing to ask anyone. It’s none of your goddamn business, and if a couple wants to have children it will probably come up organically. You know, like when she shows up pregnant.
