MY FIRST JOB WAS AT COMTEMPO!

I occasionally check the missed connections on Craigslist just because one day some stranger will notice how beautiful I am godammit.

I read Jezebel all the time but have never started an acct until today so I could tell you how much I love this story. I'm laughing so hard I'm crying, no joke. I can just picture everything so clearly. As a parent, I totally can relate. Omg the little girl rage.

Ha, I have a polar opposite story. When I was 12 I was carrying my 9-month-old sister, and watching my 6-year-old brother and two other kids about his age while our mothers were doing laundry at the laundromat. I struck up a conversation with a woman with a baby about my sister’s age, and she said, “Are these all your

Your mom is a complete boss for getting through that whole thing with a straight face. I’m pretty sure I would’ve completely melted about the third time I tried to say, “Actually, it’s a parasol,” to the bus driver.

I want a movie now where he plays the Pope. like, a super-campy villainous Pope. Gina Torres and Ming-Na Wen can play nuns who discover his eeeeeevil plot for (even more) world domination and have to bring him down.

This is about my twin sister. First day of school, she was in second grade. A boy named Ricky started picking on her. Pulling at her hair, slapping, kicking and terrorizing her. She was scared but nobody did anything. The teacher just told Ricky to stop it but he continued. He was big and an asshole. He grabbed her

So, when I was in kindergarten, I wasn’t allowed to carry an umbrella on the bus.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who at 30 years old was told that she couldn’t have a sample of ice cream at the grocery store without parental permission.

I’ve lived in the Boston area for almost thirty years and I still constantly wonder why it’s cold and when the sun will come out.

Not real school per se, but it’s the closest story I have:

Yeah, I was shocked at my mom’s response to Caitlyn Jenner coming out. Here’s this very feminist gay woman who somehow lacked even basic understanding of trans* people and the issues they face. She wasn’t mean or anything but she flat out told me that she “didn’t understand why anyone would be transgender” which is so

Aww! :( I had friends who did something similar to me, though not as malicious. I came down with pneumonia in 5th grade and had to miss school for two weeks, so for some reason my two best friends told everyone that I moved to Idaho. When I got back everyone in my class asked me how Idaho was and I was like, “….????”

I dropped trou at my preschool to show everybody the heart-shaped bandages that the surgeon had given me after I had a birth defect repaired.

When I was in third grade I started school a week late because my family was in Europe. When I got back I thought all my friends would be excited to see me but instead I found out that someone had started a rumor I had died.

I completely agree with you. I spend a lot of time with people of the 40+ age group, and for the most part they’re incredibly progressive and I’m proud to call them my friends.
And then something about trans rights will come up, and they’ll start misgendering people left and right and saying “I just don’t understand”.

Hang on if gay people are godparents obviously they’ll emesh the poor kid in their cunning conversion schemes but are trans people doing it as well now? You guys had a policy meeting and invited the Pope? Rookie mistake.

The church's rules regarding acceptable human behavior. No Catholic priest should ever, and I mean ever, use that phrase, when denying anyone their basic human rights. In fact they should never use that phrase, ever. And I was raised a Catholic, and knew the most amazing, compassionate, heart warming priests you could

Not trying to rain on the shade court, but I think the Nicki v. Miley was totally staged. If you say someone isn’t a very polite person, or whatever her exact words were, knowing you’re going to see said person at an awards show the week the interview comes out when you said the thing AND they’re going to be
