Shit! Shut it down guys. The jig is up and we’ve been found out. We’re all secret car haters, which is why we’ve dedicated a substantial portion of our lives to getting a job where we talk about them all day.

considering that the Blue Oval will sell one of these things to any geek off the street with no special license or qualifications required.

“My super low-low prices are the real crime here!”

I’ve been looking at the prices for NAs.... And the silly thing is, I have a perfectly-good S2000 - but the steering just isn’t nearly as good, and the engine is not at it’s full potential except for the rare (glorious) moment when space opens up on an on-ramp.

I assume you are referring to the Hole-In-One scam Trump ran where the fine print of the prize insurance stated a minimum distance of the hole (like 175 yards) and then he deliberately set the hole up at a shorter distance. Somebody made that 172 yard shot, but was denied the prize on a technicality. Went to court for

Congrats, you may test drive this truck!

Seriously, I was coming here to say this exact thing. Austin Clagett did nothing wrong here and is just being screwed over by two companies that were too cheap to cover their offered prize.

“Hole-in-one on #10 gets you the keys to this F-150. Thanks to Jay Hodge Ford of Morrilton!”

This is what amounts to a prop bet.  There are agencies that insure this kind of thing.  Country Club/Dealership puts up the thousand dollar premium, gets to advertise, and then go home.  If someone wins it, the insurance company pays for the truck, because they lost the “prop bet.”

“No one in this story seems particularly likable and I love it.” I see no issue with the person that should have won the truck. The article does not seem to make that person seem unlikeable. Or, did I miss something.

Reverse: between this, and the discussion about Kei cars in the Norway article yesterday, I found myself looking for imported Honda Beats, Suzuki Cappuccinos, and the much-too-new-to-consider S660.

No one in this story seems particularly likable...

Is this golf club owned by Trump?

and an ugly one at that.

Counterpoint.  They seem to be doing pretty well building interesting cars in partnership with other companies.  Being a single dad on a teacher budget, I’ll personally probably always drive something boring.  But still, I’m pro interesting cars of all types regardless.

It’s reminds me of the Mazda5--super utility but way underpowered.

Too bad that America’s stigma of vans killed off this type of vehicle.

The Honda Element. It was the perfect sport-utility vehicle with the emphasis squarely on utility. A flat floor and low load height meant you could fit things in the Element that wouldn’t fit in a suburban. Fit 2 mountain bikes, your girlfriend, all your camping gear for a week and a dog in it comfortably. Bags of

This glorious bastard right here:

The MR2 because even us poors deserve a mid-engine, RWD sporty car.
