That was kind of the point I tried to make in my (pending) response: the UK public keeps reading/clicking anything written about the couple, which in turn lines the pockets of the people who generate the content and will thus continue to do so, but those very same readers go on and complain about wanting them to “just

The problem is, UK tabloids make bank off Harry & Meghan clickbait, and trash rags like The Daily Fail will literally run stories—like this latest—over and over again, only with different pics and rearranged wording each time, passing each new rendition off as breaking news, and w/o fail people go absolutely insane.

(sorry for the unintentionally long post, Royal speculation soothes my insomnia)

Hypocrisy reigns supreme in that world, which is why it needs to die off already. Make the Royals get real jobs, turn all the fucking estates and palaces into public spaces that will continue to bring money to the nation, and otherwise bid adieu to that heinous and outdated institution.

I gotta admit, I dig the name Mountbatten. Sounds like something out of Game of Thrones.

That sounds like the start of a heist movie I’d totally watch.

Now for the rest of that costly, outdated, moth-eaten institution...

They tried to use Sussex Royal as an umbrella brand for their charities, appearances, ventures, and probably merch, but the Queen axed that pretty quickly. Apparently if you’re not a participating royal, you don’t get to use “royal” on your business card. (Weirdly enough, their Sussex Royal site is still up, albeit

How much you want to bet the UK tabloids and their equally trashy readers will still gobble up every morsel of news about M&H while continuing to insist they wish the two would “just go away?”

Maybe this is the wrong takeaway, but if I was going to purposefully upload one of my mistakes—especially happening in real timeI would have put a more comedic spin on it. Like, laugh at yourself first so others know you’re in on it, then ask for help because we’re humans who fuck up sometimes and surely that would

Yeah, our priorities are clearly in order.

Aw come on, you know how de rigueur it is to blame women for men’s issues.

I’m thinking mysterious foreign oligarch or Dubai-based businessman. Or she’ll become a #boss lawyer as planned and cast off the mantle of patriarchal avatar once and for all. Seriously, we’re in cosmic bingo right now so anything is literally, terrifyingly possible.

I initially interpreted this as “why can’t everyone who’s an asshole serve a minimum prison sentence for being an asshole?” and my internal response was “because there’d be more people in prison than out. We’d all be cellmates.”

Another empathetic stranger here. I was raised by abusive parents with severe narcissistic personality disorders, and to this day my relatives can’t understand why I’m estranged. My parents were THAT good at saving their atrocities for behind closed doors but pouring it on thick for everyone else. Even now they’re

I adored Whedon’s version of Much Ado as well, and the fact that it was very much a family affair—like you said, filmed at his house, but also with his wife and children involved in the production—just sucks a giant ass in light of all these revelations. It’s breadcrumbs at this point, but my guess is he behaved

Thank you, this is exactly how I feel about it. She was grifting on trust fund babies, socialites, bankers, and highly paid magazine/media professionals. (Also, according to hotel staff she was very generous with tips and gifts; whether this was out of sincere decency or the need to keep an amiable guest profile I

I agree that rich sociopaths definitely seem to be above the law, but does that apply to Sorokin? She’s a pathological liar and fantasist with a personality disorder; more to the point I guess, she comes from a working class family (much to her shame apparently), which sort of takes her out of the financial privilege

Agree. I also think the way the world treats women celebs in general is incredibly gross. They’re alternately hyper-sexualized and slut shamed when they’re young, then mocked for being “old” at an age when most male celebs are humming along just fine.

I know Seth Myers is the overlooked middle child of late night hosts but I like him too. He and Colbert are each able to strike a similar chord of being funny but also kind—not an easy feat, apparently.
