Why is it her responsibility to “get her man?” Is he there to get her, get his children, when they’re in need? If so I’ve yet to hear about it. He’s a grown ass adult who needs professional help.

This. Also, why is it always the woman’s job to fix the man? Yes, he’s her husband and the father of her children, but he’s also a grown man who has the money and resources to seek mental help and seemingly doesn’t. His madness is almost performance art at this point. He comes off as a nightmare of selfish narcissism,

All the stars for you. Thank you.

In interviews prior Kate’s said he was “lovely” to her and she cried for years over the break up (via Vanity Fair), so I’m guessing she’s on the side of the other exes. He was dating her when he went through his hotel room trashing phase, tho, so who knows what debris carried over.

Which is why I’m really uncomfortable with previous partners being called to testify. I mean, I get it, but just because he didn’t physically/verbally abuse Winona, Kate, and Vanessa doesn’t mean he a) didn’t pull other shit they were ok putting up with and b) can’t go on to abuse another partner. People bring out

I don’t think so...? She was huge and her career was humming along just fine after they broke up (Dracula, Age of Innocence, etc). I think the pill addiction came later, then the shoplifting nonsense that inexplicably derailed her career for awhile. Depp was a 26 year old who preyed on her at 17—I’m sure some damage

THIS. This was exactly what I came here to write. It’s always bugged me that no one ever talks about Depp at 26 dating a 17 year old virgin (she admitted he was her first). That’s a whole different kind of abusive, sweet Winona—he may not have hit you, but he definitely preyed on your youth and innocence.

I mean, cool on Depp for not mistreating the help—like, seriously. Maybe he really is a man of the people who just happens to be astonishingly rich and famous. He seems to have a handle on those dual roles. But something still doesn’t add up, no matter how many witnesses come forward to contest this or that. I feel

Yeah, I can’t even mildly dislike her. Friends of mine who have worked with and for her, from acting as crew on her films to waiting on her table, have all said she’s extremely, sincerely kind.

We should all forgive her for Ben Affleck, as we’ve all fallen prey to meathead Chads desperately trying to evoke more depth

I thought Jewel already proved with A Night Without Armor that there’s lyrics and then there’s poetry and never the twain shall meet? Only Bob Dylan gets away with that, and he’s barely tolerated. These read like rejected songs, rather than thought-through pieces of writing.

Thank you :-)

Could you possibly link the article? Would love to read.

Yeah, people have been stuffing their parlors with kitsch from their travels for centuries. Pier 1 just cut out the middle man--as in, said country. Wasn’t all that crap made in China or something...?

Sadly, a lot. And not just in any specific state or country or region or culture—it’s everywhere. I actually had a friend “drop by” and when I pointedly refused to open the door because I was napping and in my zone and you know, NOT FEELING SOCIAL, they jangled their way in through the back door. People are

I would totally hang with your aunt.

I watched the Netflix documentary last night and it lifted my spirits so much. Absolutely wonderful.

Beautifully said (or rather, written).

To reiterate another comment below, they all seem like victims of shitty parents and an equally flimsy support system. Add to that a society that can’t get enough of hot mess women and yeah, they never stood a chance. I get that not every child star gets the Natalie Portman/ScarJo/Kirsten Dunst glow-up, as the system

I get what you’re saying, but the problem is EVERYONE knew WTF Epstein was doing, even if they never laid said hands on anyone. Just like everyone in Hollywood knew what Weinstein was up to but somehow couldn’t lift a finger to defend their wives/girlfriends/friends/costars/fellow actors from his abuse. Money protects

TRUTH. I mean, wasn’t the Underwoods’ marriage in House Of Cards loosely based on theirs...?
