I feel the same way about Lindsay Lohan. Like, yes, these are grown women but there’s definitely something breads-and-circuses about our rabid fascination with tracking their every bizarre, possibly unstable life move.

To quote Bender from The Breakfast Club (yeah, more problematic men):
I think your old man and my old man should get together and go bowling.”

I feel you.

Yeah, Tropic Thunder was the last time I think I saw him “act,” as in play a character that wasn’t just some alternate-dimension version of Tom Cruise.

Judging from various accounts a’la Leah Remini and other sources, he’s a super control freak who approaches his relationships the same way he does his career. I can see how that could slide into abusive territory (hello, Katie Holmes’ fleeing-in-the-night divorce story and that weird paparazzi clip from waaay back

Valid point, dammit.

God, I love Hollywood people. Transgender is literally just “I have to cut my hair really short and: ta-daaa!”

Or having to volunteer in communities you’d otherwise call the cops on.

I mean, she lost her job, reputation, and from what I’m reading even her housing. Even if she does go to jail she’ll serve whatever time and get out; her life, however, will likely remain in ruins.

I agree with what others are saying on this thread: punishment and reform are NOT one and the same. Punishing a Karen

One of life’s most painful lessons: people don’t grow up, they just grow older.

Unpopular observation: people who give me shit for not having/wanting kids all seem pretty disappointed with parenthood themselves. Something about misery loving company, I guess...? How DARE I think myself better than them (I don’t) and choose to be selfish (I’m not—way more selfish to bring a kid into the world you

Same where I live. Employees have to REALLY screw up to get fired—like, commit a felony screw up. Bosses are the first to be held accountable, no matter what goes down. This poses its own problems—shitty employees are literally grandfathered into their places of business and can really milk the system—but it’s still a

I get it. It’s definitely my favorite Shakespeare comedy, and B&B the best couple IMO. It was a really lovely film—shot beautifully, acted well, and the backstory made it even more special. Still, you can’t go wrong with Kenneth Branagh’s :-)

Which makes it even sadder to remember that Whedon’s 2012 adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing (which I really liked) was a gift for his wife, filmed at their house, and with the whole family involved in production. Man, nothing gold can stay.

Yeah, he was too old for this role and it was distracting. McAdams is a decade younger than him, which certainly didn’t help, but her performance way out-shined his own.

I liked how he was a “soft” villain though, in that he never got too cruel or deceitful, but seemed to genuinely want to bask in Sigrid’s light (and use it to bolster his own of course) until he came to realize the folly of it. I agree, they could have done more with the character but I still adored him.

I wish the story had kept them as platonic, fierce besties and axed the romance altogether. We so seldom get to see healthy straight man / straight woman friendships that are just that, where one hasn’t been pining for the other the whole time and the happy ending isn’t them getting together. They still could have

You are grossly overestimating many men. And because actions rarely equate to consequences for them in our society, their dicks are out and proud for all ages to retch at the sight of.

Sadly, suing Donald Trump never seems to go anywhere either. I feel like every few months I read about some new lawsuit being brought against him, and then poof! up in smoke it vanishes.

What’s sad is they feel obligated to step in and assure us that they don’t share her views in order to avoid scrutiny and possible cancellation. Why is this their responsibility? She wrote the books, they acted in the movies as kids. Unless they’ve all been secretly chummy with J.K. lo these many years—and maybe they

Except remember when we all adored her and hung off her every word not that long ago when she was Twitter dueling with Trump and the far right? We loved that she was doing more than just eating crumpets made from £100 notes, that she was using her voice to fight the good fight and in a very funny, snarky way. This no
