Yeah, it's not as if the elites of the film industry are busy or anything

I always thought that Schindler’s List should have gotten more credit for directing Lincoln, though.

People ragged on last year’s Oscars for the sake of being contrarian, but holy shit almost every nomination in almost every single category would have left me reasonably satisfied were it to win.

Free Solo

Dafoe’s Oscar should have FOR THE FLORIDA PROJECT, WE TOTALLY FUCKED UP THERE carved into the base.

The complaints about Black Panther are right on time I see. Every other year people are crying that superhero movies should be acknowledged by the Oscars, I wonder why this one is an exception?

I feel they used to try harder. I discovered Primer and Bella Tarr here. So an entire article about 27 Dresses is a little disheartening.

I think, of late, we’ve certainly seen a lot of That thing you think is trash is actually great” articles.

This situation is interesting to me, because I can’t imagine that a male director who exposed himself to one of his actors would be allowed to retain his job in the current climate. That is, of course, if you consider a woman exposing her breasts to be equivalent to a man exposing his genitals (I don’t, personally;

For safety reasons obviously.

...that Shaw had taken such an issue with the no-nudity clause in her contract that she pulled Weaving into a trailer, took off her own top, and “demanded to know why Weaving had a problem being nude” when she did not.

I remember in 2007, people were laughing their heads off at the thought of these Olds trying to make a movie about Facebook. Then the teaser trailer came out, and we thought, huh, maybe this won’t be what we’re expecting. Then the movie was actually pretty dang good, rewiring and reframing our relationship to this

I would watch a sequel and make all my relatives and in-laws over the age of 50 watch, too so they can actually understand how Facebook works and what has happened. People aren’t rushing to watch the Frontline episodes on Facebook so maybe they would see this.

...and who are all eventually defeated by Friendster.

I find it hard to trust AVC reviews. Most reviewers seem so bitter and jaded and cynical. I mean, maybe reviewing isn’t for you, dawg. Go do something that makes you happy.

The Daily Star, like most British tabloids, is about five levels below the National Enquirer. It’s really not baffling that they thought they could fabricate speech attributed to a celebrity because they do it all the time, and have done so for years. And, you would think AVClub and others would know to take U.K.

Hahaha I totally fell for it!  If Daily Star has hard evidence they can fire away, otherwise I will take his word for it, it did just seem like something people say today when they’re planning to run for office.  I = sucka

Season 2 was great, don’t @ me.

hey its me, the resident S2 defender. ama.

This is the first middling review I’ve seen from a site I’d consider having an opinion worth noting. I’m taking this review with a grain a salt until I see this for myself. I’m pretty excited based on the other reviews I’ve read.
