While it does kind of make sense, I feel Porsche could ax the Carrera 4S and replace it with a very mild hybrid system that only powers the front axle. That would keep weight down, simplify the mechanical aspects of the AWD system, and allow them to market a Hybrid 911.

From the standpoint of power supplementation, ala 918, hybridization is not a horrible thing if it can be packaged in a way that doesn’t hinder other performance. I.e. handling due to weight gain. HOWEVER... I’ll tell you the same thing I told my sister when she first saw my Porsche and asked me about the mileage...

How about cut in half by an A-10 Warthog?

The SL 65 AMG BLACK SERIES happened. Better car for less money.

The Audi driver wont have very many money by the time thats settled.

Extra low mileage Murcielago for sale. Recently serviced, fresh paint. Only 37k miles! Asking $250,000 or best. No lowballers, this is a RARE car, I know what I have.

Should I go with the 467hp engine, or is the 423 enough?

“Well hello Reginald, glad to see you’ve come to your senses and acquired a Maybach. It really is just soooo nice to be insulated from the rigors of common living and...oh...you got the 8-cylinder version. I see. How...thrifty of you. You’ll have to excuse me, my jet awaits. I’m sure I’ll see you at the aerodrome in

Very true - heck, MB probably lowers boost in 1st gear, Maybach drivers don’t really want their necks snapped back and tires scratching for traction. That would cause their monocle to possibly fall out.

I don’t think I’ve ever drove in a way on the street where a quarter mile time is relevant.

I remember seeing a video review (Motortrend? Car & Track? I can’t remember) that concluded the turbo engine had the minimum power the base model car should have had to be tolerable.

Sorry, not sorry, I need a cylinder for every inch of my checkbook. I can’t be driven around in a meager 8 cyl. car. What would Buffy and Chad say at Mar-a-Lago this weekend if I arrived in a <gulp> small engined Maybach. I’d be laughed out of my loafers.

You expect me to settle for a common engine like a V-8? What, do you want me to be mistaken for a poor?

..... oh. :-(

The V12 is naturally balanced, it transmits next to no vibration to the rest of the car, even as it revs up. The reason for upgrading to the V12 isn’t always just for more power.

be in accordance with factory standards for condition and service compliance

So Maserati is going after the coveted Doug DeMuro demographic.
