1. This is why I never say anything about 9/11. I wasn't there and other people have said better things than I've got to say.

It seems like a particularly hollow gesture when the next tweet or update is the standard "I just ate Doritos for breakfast lol!"
I kind of ignore 9/11. I have a good friend who was in one of the towers and ran down 40+ flights of stairs and made it out alive. It's not a day she likes to remember, so I don't post shit on Facebook or Twitter. It just seems weird to just say "Never Forget".
#Neverforget is basically the new flag pin. While I saw some lovely remembrances and insight from a few people, so much of what I've seen today has been trite, superficial, narcissistic or tone deaf. In their own way, they are showing that they *are* forgetting. 9/11 wasn't about "hate vs love", "good vs evil" or the…
In fairness we don't remember the dates those events happened but we still remember the events. Because we refer to the events of 9-11 by the date they occurred on I don't know that we will lose that association with the date that would I agree normally happen. I do think it will dim as the people who were alive then…
No I'm exactly the same way. Somehow it just feels like they are "showing off" how patriotic they are. And while I realize a good amount of people are sincere about their grief and remembrance there is still a part of me that finds it odd. But I'm not really big on public commentary of events, like on FB or Twitter.…
Yep. I feel weird about all of this. I felt weird about all the false patriotism the day of and the day after, and every time this day rolls around, it all feels like its to make them look good, and not because they care.
No. A friend of mine lost her father in the first tower and she hates seeing that stuff just because she's aware that 99% of the people who say it are completely removed from the issue beyond the kind of grand terrorism loss of lives scope of it all and are just saying it because it's a thing to say. To her it's the…
As someone who ran from the second tower as it collapsed, can I just say WORST TWEETBEAT EVER. Everyone needs to STFU. Your remembrances cheapen the day for everyone who was actually effected, assholes.
Nah, I feel the same way. Especially the folks who just go #neverforget and that's it. No one is going to forget anytime soon and your hashtag isn't going to be the thing that makes someone say "Oh yeah! I would have totally forgotten about all of that it it weren't for my Aunt Mabel and her picture of a crying…
I am a bit confused about the whole "never forget" hashtag - I mean, it's not like the world is in any danger of forgetting 9/11?! Also, as a non-American I will never get the whole hyper patriotism thing (a whole FIELD of flags?!?!?) on a day of mourning and sadness.
Love the lips but...uh, wtf mullet?
Gawd I still love this Leo.
Smoking is inflicted on the people around you when you do it, and the people forced to deal with the smell if you smoke inside your home, office, or car. As someone with allergy issues, I can tell you that the lingering smell can be almost as headache- and reaction-inducing as the actual smoke. If it was something…
He has SO MANY TEETH. I'm scared.
Her name is Nyad, for goodness' sake. Of course she swam it!
He's in his 70's; she's in her 30's. Whatever. I'm younger than she is, but I kinda envy her a bit.
That's amazing, how you can't even see the edges of the mirro— wait a second...
