I don't know, this is totally failing to get my hackles up. Are they supposed to be up? Because just replace "girlfriend" with "boyfriend" or "significant other of whichever gender and sexual persuasion you happen to prefer" and it's like...yeah, most of that shit is pretty annoying.

This seems appropriate.

Precious Present, Based on the Novel Push Present by Sapphire.

For potato crime, there is only Potato Judge, and his verdict is GEEEEEELLLLLTTYY!!!

In honor of my dear friend, cheerful_exgirlfriend:

Word. St. John's Wort saved my life when I had PPD and all the anti-depressants made me feel worse. (But that doesn't mean I go around preaching about it and/or telling people it's the only way. It worked for me; whatever works for you is best!)

A lot of that is "don't play an ace when a two will do" though. Ginger makes an upset tummy feel better but if you cannot stop vomiting you need a anti-nausea medication, not something that might settle the grumbles. That's something that the homeopathy crowd will never understand. Well that and the placebo effect.

Abso-frickin-lutely! My doc is great. She knows I don't like to take too many antibiotics or prescription drugs if I can help it because if they have nasty side effects, I will always get them. If there is an OTC option, she tells me about it and lets me try it out. (None of my issues are life threatening, just

Couldn't agree more. When I have a bad cold or non-lethal flu, I'm all about natural "medicine." Slippery elm tea with honey for a sore throat, spicy food as an expectorant to clear gunk out of my lungs, immune boosting stuff like vitamin C and garlic, ginger for a queasy stomach etc. Cough syrup might ease some

This is why I prefer to call the hippy-dippy stuff complementary medicine, not alternative. It's great to complement the scientifically proven stuff, but not so great to use it as alternative and forgo the scientifically proven stuff altogether.

This...yes...a million times yes. I've found many "hippy-dippy, new age, pseudo-science" things to be really helpful. Turmeric is awesome for pain relief. I find a lot of benefit in energy work. 5htp is awesome for my brain chemistry. I also see an MD for yearly checkups, for infections, and for things that are

I don't think there's really too much of a Lone Ranger canon or fan base, so you could probably write a non-offensive version of Tonto in which he and the Ranger are friends and equals with some kind of shared goal. And he could talk in an non-stereotypical way and be played by a Native American actor.

Did you also read A Modest Proposal and think it's about eating babies?

Yeah, I was worried that a bunch of people would give me hell for this comment, but fortunately that hasn't been the case. Childbirth is scary!

Then Uncle Phil from the Fresh Prince is the ultimate in bad parenting. I mean, he got divorced from his wife, remarried a woman with the same name, and then forced his poor children to pretend that nothing ever happened, never allowing them to speak of their real mother ever again. The monster.

Looking back, it was awfully weird that he felt he needed to invite two irresponsible, marginally employed dudes to come live with him as sort of a mother replacement.

I have often thought that if I were a man, I would be much more willing to have children. Pregnancy and childbirth are a pretty big deterrent for me.

Can I sell my allotment of future kids?

Olivia disapproval and disappointment gifs AHOY!

How are people not completely humbled by parenthood? How does someone dare to say, outside of a few obvious things, they know the right way of doing it?
