I think what people mean is that it has very little to do with systematic misogyny. This was a very personalized misogyny from someone who felt extremely small, and was using hatred to not feel small. It wasn't the casual hatred of someone who is surrounded by contemptful messages about women.

I actually read all 140 pages of his sick manifesto, and I also want to point out that he was in fact quite manipulative, kept many of his political views to himself, and would often promise his parents that he would seek help/take steps to improve his situation.
