The title of the article and the lede are both about how police didn't act because of misogyny. I'm saying that that argument is false, because regardless of his views they couldn't have acted.

I think what people mean is that it has very little to do with systematic misogyny. This was a very personalized misogyny from someone who felt extremely small, and was using hatred to not feel small. It wasn't the casual hatred of someone who is surrounded by contemptful messages about women.
