I got laid off from Amazon in November. They paid me through mid January, and then I got 13 weeks of severance pay and cashed out my vacation days. Sounds sick, right? Good on them. Know what I’d rather have had? My job. How’s Amazon doing these days, by the way?

As far as I can tell, the only thing NYC is buckling under is the load of bad infrastructure, climate change, and rats. But hey, at least their police budget is through the god damn roof.

I just wrote out this whole huge rant about cities and deleted it. Anyway, if your city is pushing a million people, that ain’t small/medium. Maybe you need a few less Gamestops, but that sounds about right for the population.

For sure. There are some beautiful PS1 games, but none that I can think of that are in the regular 3D style. It’s just so rough looking. There’s lots of good pixel stuff and games like Oddworld, however you would describe those graphics.

I would guess FOMO has a lot to do with it. I don’t play any sports games or annual releases. But everyone assumes they’ll be left behind playing the old game, so everyone gets the new one. It’s really a self-perpetuating cycle, but EA loves it, I’m sure. It’s guaranteed income.

Glad to hear this is cool. I wishlisted it a while back and forgot about it until just now. I know y’all can’t review everything, but it’s nice to see some smaller stuff reviewed on here once in a while.

Nostalgia for pixel art makes sense. It looks good when done well. Anything that happened to look on the Playstation was despite its capabilities, not because of how it rendered things.

I think the only stick issue I can remember, prior to this, is that the N64 stick would get loose eventually. It still worked, but I think it just made it less precise. I had that happen to a couple of controllers.

I guess I was just lucky. It happened so fast with my Switch. And I had it happen with an XBox controller I use for PC. But all the way back to PS1, I never had issues before that. Interesting.

I thought that might be the case. I think when you Gameshark him into your party, you still don’t have control. So the remake is better than we ever had.
