ProtonDB is your friend. Tons of games that aren’t verified work great. I’ve been playing Granblue Fantasy: Relink on my Deck about 50 percent of the time I’m playing it. Unverified. Runs great.

I don’t go many places where I need my deck. I play it in bed, where I can plug it in. So I don’t think it’s too big an issue. Obviously you don’t wanna be playing Baldur’s Gate on the train or whatever, but I think most people are usually within a few feet of an outlet, most of the time.
Hey, could you two keep it down? I’m tryna concentrate over here.
It sucks so bad. I tried to replay it a couple of years ago and I bailed after about 20 hours. I actively hate the game and I don’t understand why it’s so popular now that we’re 20+ years past its release. It was neat when it came out because it had cool graphics and voice acting (which is bad). It is not neat now.
Retro option: Final Fantasy IV. Because the story rules. The characters rule. It’s relatively short and sweet, for an RPG. It’s just an all-around good time.
Less-retro option: Final Fantasy XII. This one captured the spirit of the series for me. It has a cool battle system. The characters and world are cool. It feels…
I feel the same way. I had a blast playing the game, but going back just feels like too much. It felt so loverlong that I was exhausted by the end. Still recovering, haha.
Mr. Beast is the soulless corporation. You should read about the work culture surrounding him. Now he’s out spreading his misery to other people stuck working for other soulless corporations.
I hope you’re right. And either way, there are plenty of good third party games coming. But I don’t have a ton of faith, as much as I want to.
I think you’re right about some of the best games coming out late in a console’s lifecycle, except that they’re calling it late and there’s nothing from Sony on the horizon. Undoubtedly games will be better, so where are theirs? Sucks, but hopefully they’ve got some stuff cooking for 2025.
Yeah, by the end of the PS4's life, games were really taking a long time to load, for one thing. I remember something like 2-3 minute load times for Control. PS5 isn’t struggling with a single thing I’ve seen.
What would they even do for a new console? I imagine it’s gonna feel like PS5.5, at best. Like, come on, man. I just got mine last February. Let’s get some more Sony stuff in the pipe.
I was gonna play Remake again before the sequel, but I think I might actually wait a bit before I play the sequel. We’ll see if hysteria gets me.
Right now I’m playing a little bit of Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Kinda cool, so far. I really don’t like that a lot of RPGs don’t let you swap characters. You have this cool…
Kotaku is blacklisted by so many publishers. They’re not paid by anyone to not trash anything.
Why wouldn’t they shop where everyone else shops? They need stuff.
It’s in early access. I’m sure they can make changes if they need to. They must have a backup plan. There’s no way they didn’t see this coming.
This makes sense. Especially with the addition of more games into it. A significant portion of the kids I teach play Fortnite and/or Roblox. It’s just the thing to do, even if you’re not otherwise into gaming. Plus Fortnite (and I assume Roblox?) is free.
I’m making it a point to kill so many cops and corpos. In Cyberpunk.
“Capitalism fosters innovation and breeds exciting new, wonderful things!” Even if that’s true (it’s not), it also eventually kills them.
Even if they were down a little bit, they were insanely profitable, weren’t they? If your small company makes something new and cool, don’t go public. Is that an option? No one ever…
All the ones on the list that I’ve played (4 of them?) have that. I think it’s kind of a given mechanic for the genre. Health packs and armor. There are lots of other boomer shooters, and the ones I’ve played also do it. You can go home again.
I think the label is using the term “boomer” in the same way it came back as slang in the last few years. You don’t necessarily have to be a Baby Boomer. It just means you’re old or acting old or whatever. Doom and its contemporaries are the oldest shooters. They’re boomer shooters.
Also, as someone else pointed out:…
