YES. We’ve been half-watching (ie falling asleep to) old episodes of Friends and are realizing that Ross really was THE WORST. 

I think you are right on that- I work with the police pretty regularly as part of my job (I’m a social worker) and the vast majority of them are very professional and appropriate*. There are also a select few who are total dicks and I have no doubt they racially profile.

Seriously, the fabric looks very inexpensive. Like it came from the bargain bin at JoAnn Fabrics. 

Between Bynum’s story and yours, I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised that the police seem to have handled both situations appropriately (ie without shooting or unlawfully detaining anyone). You don’t see that every day. 

Not to mention that the caller is so ignorant that she clearly didn’t know/recognize the “suspicious person” as her own elected representative.

When I lived in DC our entire neighborhood became a war zone on the 4th. People shooting off fireworks EVERYWHERE in a densely populated neighborhood full of row houses, which also meant car alarms went off on all of the bazillion cars parked on the street. It seriously felt like we were under attack.

I’m American and I’m also shocked (and horrified) by this. I guess I assumed it already was a hate crime because....well, lynching is pretty much the ULTIMATE HATE CRIME.

Yup, I had to take misoprostal for a missed miscarriage and the whole experience was incredibly traumatic (both physically and emotionally). The pharmacist who filled the prescription (at Walgreen’s) was actually really compassionate. Had he tried to deny me the prescription, that probably would have been the breaking…

I dunno, I’ve never been a fan of the Kardashians but I wonder if some of this is just because this whole country has gone to crap and she’s decided it’s time to get involved. Plus she’s getting older and has kids now, so her priorities are changing a little bit.

Even using noise as an excuse was stupid- it’s the middle of a CITY! There must be all kinds of noise from traffic, people, etc. So I highly doubt that an 8 year old (even if she WAS screaming) hawking water in the middle of the day is really adding that much noise to the situation.

Well the fact that she went to UofM tells me everything I need to know about her. 

He was just like the rest of them- not NEARLY as wealthy as he wanted everyone to think. The guy has probably gone into debt up to his eyeballs just to maintain his image.

That depends on the district. Some districts you can choose to have your checks spread out over 12 months, others you just don’t get paychecks in the summer. 

We don’t get 3 months off- that’s greatly exaggerated. Plus It’s not like people can just easily “plan” to have babies in June, and even if they could, that’s still unpaid time.

Me too!!! I loved that book and begged my mom to get me a kitten after I read it. Instead I had to settle for a Trapper Keeper with kittens on it.
