I mean, you can, but it’d be nothing more than an exercise in futility.

Fun fact: that actress is Elon Musk’s ex-wife.
Giggity.
This is a very good point - their stance against abortion is based on 1) a total pro-life ideology 2) the religious belief that life begins at conception. While I disagree philosophically with #2, their beliefs follow an internal logic and I don’t expect them to ever change premise #2.
I don’t think it confirmed - I think it’s a strong hint in favor of them being the same person, but I can also see it being a bit of a red herring. I think Westworld has been fucking with us so much that I won’t believe they’re the same until it’s unequivocally confirmed.
It’s not about holding a lower standard for them, but about understanding the context of a 2,000 year-old, 1.2-billion member religious institution. I’m just saying if you’re waiting for the Catholic Church to undertake a complete sea change in social policy, you’re wasting your time. It is foolish and useless to…
Exactly. In these scenarios you have to understand the context, and the way the Catholic Church works. I was raised Catholic but am now agnostic, and while I don’t think Pope Francis gets a pat on the back, it seems more productive to acknowledge that this is a small forward step for the Church rather than lambast the…
That’s also a good point re: the maze. I can see both arguments in favor of him being or not being the MIB, but I tend to lean towards the idea that we’re being led astray. I’ll believe it when the show unequivocally confirms it, I guess.
Cue people who are outraged because they have no understanding and/or completely ridiculous expectations of the Catholic Church in 3...2...
At one point they say Maeve has been the brothel madam for about 10 years - but maybe that’s in the most recent timeline?
Well, I’ll be damned. I wish I had time to do a whole rewatch before the last two episodes because I feel like the more they reveal, the more it calls into question what you saw in the previous episodes - I need to go back and notice more subtleties in the time jumps, like when you watch the Sixth Sense for the 2nd…
Is anyone else starting to feel like William ISN’T the MIB? I think we’re being misdirected.
MIB being Logan is an interesting theory - I think the show wants you to think that the MIB is William, but something about that seems a little too obvious to me. I think we’re all possibly being misdirected by the show into assuming that.
I actually am less convinced now that the MIB is William - was Maeve the brothel madam when Logan & William entered the park? I thought she was, which would mean their story came after. But I honestly don’t know - clearly this show edits things together so you feel like things are happening simultaneously when they’re…
Right - there’s clearly something deep and special there, but the show hasn’t really conveyed that yet.
Yeah, I don’t doubt that the formulaic process of The Crown was mostly accurate, I guess I just wish that they had mixed up the plot progression a bit over 10 episodes.
I don’t think it’s the slowness that I don’t like (I love slow British period pieces), but that every episode is kind of formulaic (Elizabeth thinks about making a controversial or unorthodox decision, people advise her not to do that, she changes her mind in the end).
Eh, I found it a little boring?
I think she’s heavily implied before that Ronan is Frank Sinatra’s son.
Things not to get Marissa Hermer, or anyone else:
