I’m not sure I understand this “fine voiding guaranteed money” provision in his contract. Could they have fined him at any time (e.g. Week 7), thereby voiding the rest of his contract? I think I heard somewhere that his money became fully guaranteed (i.e. fines don’t void the guarantee), but haven’t seen this…

Good article, but I disagree with the premise that Season 5 is more toxic. This game (and most competitive FPSs, to be fair) have some of the most petty, toxic people I’ve ever played with. Hell, it’s even in QuickPlay!

It’s gonna suck when these kids become adults and hate Jesse Lingard for being washed up and overpaid.

Bill Simmons is a hack and an ass, but he had to have some level of self-awareness that this might look bad, which would lead him to send a DM, rather than a tweet that everyone could see. This leads me to think it was a joke. Then again, Bill Simmons is a hack and an ass.
