I think that is more indicative of the porn industry than the porn itself. Plenty of porn actresses have transitioned into doing cam shows or selling their own videos and claim to be very happy with the change. They are still doing sex work, but outside of the traditional industry.

From what I’ve read/people I’ve talked to, there are plenty of clients that will see the same sex worker regularly, sometimes even on a set schedule. So, while your comment may be true for those prowling red light districts, it certainly isn’t true for the industry as a whole.

How is that different from paying a therapist? You’re basically paying someone to listen to you talk about your life/problems. They ‘pretend’ to be interested just as much as a sex worker (i.e. they aren’t going to listen to you/dish out advice for free).

Why is this still a thing? I don’t remotely understand the purpose of having a courtroom sketch artist in this age. Is it just tradition?
