Except that it didn’t. The point of the SNL skit was that she was a supporting character in her own story. Every single scene was about her boyfriend.

I just watched the pilot, and trust me when I say that scene plays out differently. There’s context cut. Her boss is not making a successful argument for feminism.

It’s a start, but little girls need to see women in the lead roles, not supporting ones.

I guess the best way to put it is that Supergirl is unapologetically a girl. I know that’s going to turn some people off.
