This made me do the Wordle for the first time ever (got it in 2!)

First of all, what an incredibly offensive generalization to make about an entire continent. Second, the vast majority of Americans have an income/net worth that is considerably closer to that of an impoverished person in the developing world than to that of a billionaire.

“Also, HIS PENIS EXPLODED ONCE”

The bit is about how he told his accountant he had a drug problem and so to block all his methods of getting cash - so he had to figure out ways to steal from himself to get drug money

I found the ending of that show oddly uplifting. Mulaney saying he’d gone through so much shit that it had essentially cured him of caring what other people think of him. Or, as he memorably puts it, “You’ll cancel John Mulaney? I’ll kill him!”

Drus is a helluva drug.

“The telephone is ringing, is that my mother on the phone” is the ringtone I made for my mother, who gives off the same psycho energy.

As you have demonstrated, there are plenty of ways for your peer group to express their thoughts.

Part of the idea is if your favorite subreddits are dark, you won’t visit reddit at all. That’s what I’m doing. The subs I would normally go to reddit for are dark. So, I’m just not using reddit today. Deleting your account doesn’t send as much of a message because it’s permanent. If you just stop using it today and

Well, to be fair to christians, when you believe that all sins can be forgiven simply by coming to Jesus, it sorta opens up the universe of life choices for the taking. It’s like a ‘get out of jail free’ card for the afterlife.

Wow, where have you been? When she began her political run, the world was pretty much introduced to her as “the gun-themed restaurant owner from Colorado.” One of the main selling points is the fun fact the staff are all strapped as they go about their food service duties.

I’m pretty tall and pretty fit. Also I have pretty much a full head of hair.

Boebert is *exactly* the type of person you sort of knew in high school who you *have* to stay Facebook friends with because she’s nonstop drama, fights, 911 calls, text screenshots, etc.

Archambault told the tabloid he and Boebert “were good friends” who “were together all the time,” admitting that he “spent a lot of time at their house, hanging out with her, helping her, as a friend would do.” But, he says, “there was nothing sexually, no. We were real close at one time, but it never got to that

this is reddit, not 4chan

I mean, if that were true, they’d ask for a reasonable rate for using the API, that reflected the cost of those requests, not the exaggerated sums they appear to be asking the developers of popular reddit reader apps like Apollo for.

The bandwidth itself is relatively cheap. At an average 1kb payload per request, Apollo’s 7 billion monthly requests add up to about $500 on AWS (where, as far as I know, Reddit is hosted). The compute costs of retrieving and assembling the request data are much harder to estimate but they’re going to be the bigger

This is the sort of thing I’ve been wondering about for a long time. The APIs that these third-party apps use are just, effectively, Web interfaces (usually something like SOAP or REST). So any time you open a forum in an app, you’re hitting up the site with dozens, if not hundreds, of Web requests.
