Do we have to wait?
Do we have to wait?
The only good thing to say is that insurance companies may put pressure on departments to get rid of risky officers or to do training that teaches de-escalation and not “better to be judged by 12 than carried by six”, since they make more money if they don’t have to pay out. It’s far from perfect, but there can be a…
Don’t worry, I suspect you’ll still be better than Washington...
They really should have known better than to sign Sean Taylor...
Yankees and Dodgers are 3 and 4 (Cubs are 2). Note that the Red Sox number includes Pablo Sandoval’s money, which is considerable, but still counts.
Right, but doctors would presumably still be bound.
Speaking of big hitters, anyone know what happened with Davis’ brother? Most recent I can find is this: D.C. man accused of killing Denver tourist may be incompetent (I’d guess he is indeed not competent to stand trail, but I can’t find any definitive coverage)
I do wonder how this stuff works with HIPAA, etc. Like does the team ask the player to sign a release each time? Do they have a blanket release (and does everyone just sign it?) Even for doctors that work for the team, they can’t just share that information freely.
I mean when you have the highest payroll in baseball (~$10M more than next team and ~$60M than the 6th place team), expectations are high, and you probably should at least still be in playoff contention in early September. Still, you are right that it looks weird to not wait three weeks for their season to end.
Poor Origin, can’t even be in EA’s mass grave because they dragged its corpse out to dress up an online store...
Yeah, that’s what I was saying
Maybe not too horrible if it’s just a shoulder separation or something, but could also be something worse like a broken collarbone or a labrum tear (torn labrum won’t show up on an X-ray, but he could have both that and a separation) or something.
My immediate thought as well, though you really should have started it at 0:51...
After they’ve worked so hard to tank the season? I mean yeah he could explode and make things worse, but it seems likely he’d be a net plus.
I mean it does seem like they shouldn’t be able to do it. The fact they legally can is just a damning indictment of his agent and the NFLPA rather than the Raiders.
You people just go on and on about Bob Kraft...
Stranger still since Thompson is an Orioles fan (or at least takes a strong interest in them). I’m pretty sure there have been at least twice as many Orioles stories on Deadspin this year as about any other baseball team, despite the Orioles being terrible (and they can’t even be terrible well, it looks pretty likely…
If we go back, we need to make sure we hit Leitch era, I’m not keen on having AJ back in charge.
