It could be worded better. Car fires are more prevalent than people think, but it’s not from EVs, it’s from ICE vehicles.

I went in Feb., and they allowed us to take pics; this was one of my favorites:

They’ve redone the vault and no longer do the guided tours like they used to. This year I think is the first they let you take pictures. Last year they still had some signs up and employees would ask you not to.

I went last year and they let me take pics

I was there a few months ago and took a bunch of pics, no one said anything.

there is a joke here about Elon backing out of fights...

Vehicle that costs the same as a Porsche beats Porsche in drag race while towing another Porsche?

I mean, it’s impressive, if nothing else. All drag races are spectacle, really.

I loved the ring road esp. the east coast. We were doing a spring break/ 20th anniversary trip. I also fell in love with Akureyri. It reminds me a lot of great lakes cities.

Next time will be june. April was mostly nice and off tourist season.

Ok yes I agree in part with you, but this is not some liberal semi facism thing. It’s just selective outrage, and it’s common to both conservatives and liberals, meaning everyone. Don’t try to make it more than it is with your own personal bias. That’s how we become divided on issues we all actually agree on to turn

As a semi-regular reader of Slate, I sometimes get the impression they employ writers whose second major (after journalism) was political science or sociology. It doesn’t surprise me that the writer is ignorant about how a car works since their primary experience with automobiles is probably Lyft or Uber.

We were there a few aprils ago and had just one blizzard day. We had a diesel awd sportage with studded snow tires. It was fun.

Iceland roads are no joke. I have been on some potholed dirt hell roads there that have highway numbers. 😄

Great info, thank you.

I like the tires... and the rear bumper.

I honestly don’t think this country is going to make it...

Based on no evidence, I would assume the Venn Diagram of people who use TikTok and people with paper maps are 2 completely separate circles.

Let’s suppose these simpletons had paper maps in their vehicles. (And the rudimentary skills at reading a paper map.) If those “geniuses” checked the paper map versus what Google directed them to do, maybe, just maybe they wouldn’t’ve gone a folly adventure by noticing the Google road was not on the paper map—it’d

Me imagining how this started...

“this is it! It’s what we all bought SUVs and crossovers for even tho we all just really needed a wagon. Let’s goooooo!....”

1. always chop at an angle, never perpendicular to the wood
