I see your overall point, though I would contribute that you can normally see “through” the SUV/Truck in front of you if you’re in a similar vehicle.

As someone who has the option to go between an SUV and a sedan, the SUV is leaps and bounds a better experience because you can adequately assess traffic.

This is compounded by the fact that everyone else has a damn SUV too.
