Well, good luck. I doubt a good experience in hospitality will bring the 0.5s that are missing to Alpine. No hate, just being realistic (and I am French...)

I have many videos in mind, like Senna pole lap in Monaco but if there is a special one, this is 1988 Pikes Peak Hill Climb with the Peugeot 405, driven by Ari Vatanen. This run was just insane, gravel only, and no sun visor... As a 8 years old boy living in France at the time, it made me discover what Pikes Peak was.
I hear you. Even going from my Mk7.5 GTi to my wife Toyota Matrix always feels refreshing. Just getting into something super easy to drive (I mean the GTI is not difficult to drive), light steering and very basic feels good. Would I exchange the Matrix for the GTi, for sure not but I get your point with all the…
First, congrats on the new bike. It looks like this bike has been neglected over the years. Good on you to bring it to a professional for a detail diagnostic. I usually do an oil change a few times a year (though I track my motorcycle so I always do a mid-season one and before winter storage), brake fluid every couple…
My point against EV motorcycle is always the same. Not even talking about the price per hp which is horrendous. How long would it take to offset the carbon footprint created by manufacturing these batteries when most people on this continent (or even in Europe) are using a motorcycle as a toy and barely driving more…
Unless you can fast charge it in 10min, then the current range might be ok
“The U.S. government has taken this route. The U.S. Department of Energy currently has a tax credit of $1.25 for SAF producers to subsidize the fuel cost for airlines.”
He has been driving EV (in different form) for 18 years, which obviously he likes and also owned a Mclaren F1 and multiple others cars. If there is a guy who probably know what he is talking about and can compare, he is probably one of these.
F1 tickets are overpriced in Las Vegas. I am shocked.
You don’t know if people would want to buy more efficient engines for the same vehicles if they had the choice. They currently DO NOT have the choice. This is my issue. In Europe people still have the choice between inefficient AND efficient vehicle.
Penalties are not high enough, these millions are peanuts for these big groups. It should be in BILLIONS to even make them a little bit scared and make them bring affordable fuel efficient vehicles on the market. In the end, we will only benefit as consumers. And if you says, we are going to have to pay more as…
I am driving a GTI mk7.5 from 2018 and my wife a Toyota Matrix from 2010, it has been like 8 months I have more or less looking to buy a used car to replace the Matrix. I have seen these type of dealerships (in Canada) many many times. Now, first thing I ask by email or phone is to give the final price all included,…
I bet you 90% of people buying this thing will be to replace their minivan or their SUV to go to the grocery store and the mall. It just looks like a cool minivan, this is what it is. A ID. Buzz “California” is also, apparently, planned.
I fully agree on your comment and actually the more expensive Hydro is, the better it would be, forcing government to incentivize alternative energy and pushing people to be careful of how much energy they use. Which, even with EV, might have people force to drive smaller cars. One can always dream...
True but have you try to put your hands on a EV these days? I mean the lead time is just crazy. VW is giving a 2 years lead time on a ID4 (at least in Canada)
But then Norway is 5.4 milions people and it is pretty dawn cold in the winter. Saying that because Norway is small in comparison of the US or have a small population is not really relevant. Most people drive short distance on a daily basis, everywhere in the world. I mean, I live in Canada, I am not crossing the…
wow, you put the bar pretty high for a first car. I think it is too much to learn with a clutch and I am guessing they are probably not what I would call a workhorse (the clutch not the car). I am from a country where you only learn on manual and you want a very easy clutch to learn on with low power to modulate IMO.
A Toyota Matrix, enough power but not too much easy to modulate the clutch while they learn, bullet proof and cheap clutch to replace (might be needed...)
(...) countries that really push EV
I cannot agree more, not even on the maintenance side. I had to safety my car (to buy out my own lease, go figure) and the dealership told me that I had a bent wheel, $650 each to be replaced. I went to my local tire shop, it was a wheel balance issue, that cost me $60. Fuck these guys.
