That actual obvious choice would be to get Sean Kelly. He can do both amazingly well - and knows the differences between early younger Morty and the older Morty from current seasons - it’s just the right thing to do. No one - and I mean no one - would be able to tell the difference once he was in a real studio.

This wasn’t prestigious enough for those soulless, deadeyed corporate ratfucks in suits...?

And mods are going to be obsolete. If Bing Chat can write a plausible sounding 5th season of Succession, it can also deal with spam, porn, racist language, etc.

Starts by saying “based on my understanding”, then proceeds to illustrate how little they actually understand.

Landed gentry generally got money from what they did.

This person needs to not be CEO anymore. Once you start treating your users and largest contributors as the enemy instead of assets, it’s all over.

I haven’t seen anything that said they’ve acquiesced on anything. Is there a source on that? Also, the native Reddit app has many long standing flaws besides just the moderation tools.

From what I understand, a major complaint of the mods was that the 3rd party tools are far better for moderation than Reddit-native, but Reddit has now acquiesced on demands to allow those tools to continue using available APIs for no charge.

This wasn’t about letting 3rd party devs “do whatever they want.” Christian Selig, the dev who created Apollo, admitted that paying for API was something that he knew would eventually have to happen. It was Reddit’s outrageous pricing and accelerated implementation of the charges that wouldn’t allow him to adjust

If they want to charge for their API, that’s fine. If app developers can’t afford it, that’s just business, I guess. Pricing your product so high that nobody is going to buy it doesn’t sound like a way to generate revenue to me, but then I didn’t go to business school.

It’s because they clearly don’t understand the product, that they dislike and trash it.

Why all the Instant Pot hate lately? “Oh, it’s for lazy millennials to make trash food.” It’s a pressure cooker. Pressure cookers are useful and can make very delicious food if you know what you are doing. Next up, mocking people for pellet grills or mandolins.

Can we just reserve that angst for mocking Thermomix?

My guess, Spez is being a douche and playing ‘I am gonna take my ball and go home.’

It seems reddit itself has now gone dark, as I am unable to even reach the site.

I honestly feel like the only thing that killed this series was the monumentally large amount of time between season releases.

That’s the double-edged sword of only having two people doing the majority of the creative work. Doc and Jackson have talked about how they could do more episodes if they had a writers room, but the show wouldn't be the same and that's not something they were willing to sacrifice.

I mean, expand that time window. The show’s been around for twenty years, and it’s been consistently great.

Stop trying to make VR happen it’s not going to happen. It’s the kind of thing beloved by the most insufferable nerds on earth and no one else. Most people will never ever want to put those stupid goggles on.
