Bring back Sheriff Lobo!

The Golden Girl

I'm gonna haul ass to…right in front of the computer where I'm sitting now?

There are plenty of his ambient albums on YouTube, but if you're not doing so already I'd advise installing AdBlock - nothing to take you out the experience of listening to an ambient record quite like shrill advertisements popping up half a dozen times in a forty-five minute stretch.

I love their first six albums, but that one is their best. Absolutely perfect.

Regarding the middle section, I don't think any of those four tracks are particularly strong on their own but I wouldn't say they're bad either, as they work with the album as a whole. But yes, the critical backlash did seem inevitable - it's become a cliche at this point for an artist with several acclaimed albums

Have listened to Everything Now by Arcade Fire four times over the past three days, and I'm baffled by the lukewarm reviews and tepid reception it's received so far. The singles are strong and even tracks like the largely derided "Chemistry" work well within the context of the album as a whole. I may be making this

Kind of hard to not read a spoiler when it's written on the line directly below "So that Twin Peaks episode…"

Fell down a bit of a wormhole just now looking for answers to those questions, and came upon a book from 2010 by Hook titled How Not to Run a Club:

Was on a big New Order kick earlier in the week - listened to Substance, some assorted singles and the first four studio albums in their entirety, as well as Closer and Substance by Joy Division. Also checked out the first album by Electronic, the "alternative dance supergroup" formed by Bernard Sumner and Johnny

That's absolutely Dreadful.

O'Neal says as much in his Gateways to Geekery article on the subject, but the compilation 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong is actually a good starting point as it provides a decent representation of songs from practically all of their albums across various eras, sounds and personnel changes.

Yeah, I get that. Lie: The Love and Terror Cult is the album compiled of songs Manson recorded in the late 1960's and was originally released while he was being held for murder-conspiracy. It's impossible to separate the artist from the art at this point, which inevitably makes for uncomfortable listening. Many of the

Agree to disagree, I guess? It's easily the weakest track on the original album, but I still think it's better than "When It Started".

No one's listening to this, Karlagkwan!

Dunno. I understand why they made the choice to swap the song out at that particular time, but "When It Started" is straight-up B-side material at best. However, the decision to replace what has become an iconic album cover still baffles the mind.

"Run to You" on an endless loop, obviously.

This article is a wonderful tribute to an idiosyncratic individual who has created a prolific amount of music over the past forty years. And hit or miss as it has been in recent years, a lot of it is good - M.E. owes us nothing. Quite possibly the most loving "bad" review I've ever read. Well done, Mr. O'Neal.
