Most of the time it was just one album playing right after another one, so not that a big deal as far as "messing up album flow" goes. Only thing that bugged me is when "bonus tracks" were inserted into the original album (e.g. - the CD version of Black Sea by XTC with 3 B-sides plopped right into the middle of the

Yes! Got mine in the 500 yen section at Book Off about 10 years ago, and I am also of the opinion that it's really fucking good.

Goddamn it, just checked and it's been over two years! Such a great feature, and one that doesn't even have to be exclusively music-related. What a waste. Dig it out of mothballs already, AV Club!

Genuinely cool Wesley Willis story. And those "2fer" CDs were (relatively) good value back in the day - I still have my copy of Surfer Rosa/Come On Pilgrim and having listened to it that way for 20+ years now, it's impossible for me to not think of it as a single album.

Must be the same people who are buying all those Nickelback albums.

Nein.

I played Nevermind to death back in junior high and high school so I hardly ever feel the need to listen to it anymore, but because I know exactly how it's supposed to sound it's been my go-to album for testing out new speakers and adjusting levels on audio equipment for over two decades now.

Just wait for the inevitable "sexy" variation.

Excellent choices. I love everything from Extra Width up to Acme, but the Experimental Remixes EP just might be my personal favorite (though to me the Moby remix of "Greyhound" feels incomplete unless it's directly followed by the GZA remix featuring Killah Priest).

Was it in MOJO? If it was I don't remember that part, but I remember the last line:

I remember that UNKLE album being kind of a letdown, but with all the hype leading up to its release and coming after Endtroducing it probably would have been disappointing in any case. It's not a bad album, but hardly essential; "Rabbit In Your Headlights" and a few other tracks stand out, but on the whole it's

Ludwig Roselius: History's Greatest Monster

Genitals! In America! In 1990! So offensive!

In grade 9, I paid three extra dollars to get a copy of Ritual de lo Habitual with the nude sculptures on the cover (the "first amendment" version was easier to find at the time and therefore cheaper).

That's the version I come back to the most. The playing on that song evokes the feeling of sailing out into a storm and then being on the ship as it's sinking. Absolutely devastating from start to finish.

And how come Batman doesn't dance anymore? Remember the Batusi?

Let's not and say we didn't…

The shift away from the "same carefree front" predates 2003's Errorism, namely in the form of the 18-minute-long track "The Decline" from 1999.

I hate gated reverb.

Even the "wedding bells" on "Walk Like A Man"? *cringes*
