Since you’ve gone there, may I ask: what’s that sensation like? Do you wipe it off right away, or let it sit there and cool? Does he admire his handy work?

Just curious to know about it in a situation where the parties are into it. I’ve never been a big fan of being expelled upon. I’ve had men expel upon my belly, and

I would kill anyone who got near my 13-year old son without the most positive intentions; the thought of even joking about adoption is horrifying. What a cretin.

WHY do some people have children?! Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work in youth advocacy. I can tell you that hair cutting and threatening to put a child put up for adoption are not grounds for abuse claim

Yeah I feel pretty comfortable going after the dad because chopping someone’s hair off against their will or for “punishment” would be because they got crazy with gum and you can’t get it out- otherwise, that is a punishment that in no way fits the “crime” and invades a person’s bodily autonomy. I do think that was

No. It is never reasonable unless she damaged the hair in some way and it had to be cut (rats nests from hell or chemical damage). It is never an acceptable punishment. Ever.

I do know more than one family who cut a kid’s hair short because they refused to take care of it (read: kid wouldn’t wash their nasty hair). All kids involved were under 10.

Please provide the statute that gives a 13 year old legal protection from her parents cutting her hair.

Cutting a women's hair off is abuse. It something that many domestic abusers have done to their partners. I can assure you that this man was controlling. Of course kids need to be punished sometimes, but cutting off their hair is extreme.

“It upsets a 13 yr old because they don’t get to do/keep something that would be enjoyable” is punishment.

Agreed. Even a 13 year-old is entitled to bodily autonomy (hair included).

Um, nope.

Kid: Does it again.

They will if you make yourself available to them about the big shit. If you bully, berate, belittle, intimidate, and otherwise act like a prison warden rather than a parent, they won’t tell you a goddamned thing. I’m fairly shocked at how much I can get out of my 12 year old son because he trusts me to listen before

Could be she was bullied at school because she was bullied at home. Bullies sniff out and target underconfident people.

Agreed. It may seem superficial, but my hair is a part of me, and not letting me be in control of my own body feels... dark. I feel really icked out by hair-cutting as punishment.

Please describe scenarios (other than chewing gum in hair, which this obviously wasn’t) where drastically chopping off the kid’s hair in a garage might have been “perfectly reasonable”. Really, I’m fascinated to hear.

Disciplining would be taking away privileges, TV, phone, whatever... not hair...

I'm right there with you. The posting of the video is bad enough but there's something about the haircuttng that's really perverse and sinister. The poor child.

Chopping off her hair. What kind of fucking medieval punishment is this? That’s what they did to women who slept with Germans during the French occupation. Getting drunk or whatever doesn’t warrant this hateful treatment. This is horrid.
