Hey. You commented about registration issues on Oppo V2.0?
I had him as most likely after Le Mans about a month ago.
Thanks for keep us afloat long enough to get some time to be sorted.
I would run heated gloves (and gear) over heated grips.
It’s been officially stated numerous times in the F1 coverage they will never do spoiler free headlines.
Lap 1 wipe out crossed my mind of possibilities for him and after T1 I started gritting my teeth. There’s a number of disappointing moments this season and this ranks high.
Couple niggles here. Alex Marquez was on a Hard Front Tire - Soft Rear, so not tires plural. Alex Rins was 2nd (you have 3rd twice).
He has been the most consistent this year which is why he’s 5th in Riders despite no podium (4th in Jerez 2, and he (and Mir) got screwed by that red flag in Spielberg 2 while in 2nd).
I anticipated a good show from Suzuki. I had Mir for podium for sure. But this was still a “normal” MotoGP Sunday where it’s unpredictable. I tried my best to detail what could happen:
You can’t actually look at Yamahas Friday and Saturday results to determine exactly how the races go. Looking back to 2018-2019 season races gives more of a scope but you’ll have to contend with abnormalities like cold track temperature or rain.
Just a sea of yellow at Misano.
That’s pretty close to what he thought. The interview after, he alluded it was a very dicey move.
Fabio took it easy on Friday in the rainy free practices playing it safe. This cost him dearly at the start of the race as he couldn’t come to terms with the rain tires quick enough. I had a feeling he wouldn’t be first into corner with Miller 2nd on the grid who has consistently better starts with that Ducati.
Just a caveat but Mir crashed at the end of FP3 when he was trying to hotlap for a spot in Q2, he didn’t crash during qualifying. Then in Q1 he didn’t have the time to make Q2.
Thanks for all your articles and replies Andrew. They were always a pleasure to read. Definitely be checking out your new site. Good Luck and stay safe!
Absolutely, he found a really good click with that Suzuki since that first race at the Redbull Ring.
Maverick is sort of just that; maverick. You never really know how Sunday is going to go for him whatever his FP and Quali times. This was a particularly bad start but it’s not uncommon for him to get dusted 5-6 places at the start. And yes A. Marquez passed him outside on braking into T1. I think he got all bungled…
Both tears of joy and despair after that one.
A great trip to consolidate an impressive memoir.
