Bomer shouldn’t have lost a role due to being who he is, but if he lost a role in a Brett Ratner movie, did he really lose anything at all?

Look, I’m all for nuance in moral and ethical discussions, but this infatuation with “the grey” in Star Wars is getting annoying. It’s good for Jedi characters to be fully realized people and not just cookie cutter good guys, and it’s good for Sith to have motivations for what leads them down that path or things that

I had so little interest in a show about that guy from Rogue One whose story we know the end of.

I can go with trying not to pick a side.

Totally mystifying to me. She was even a great Catwoman! She is plenty cool enough for me

Indeed, although the concept you are describing is “at-will employment”. “Right to work” laws allow people to work at unionized businesses without joining the union.

Like, how hard is it to just not say transphobic things at your workplace? When your whole job is speaking words other people write for you... maybe you don’t need to say anything else? How does it even come up on the set of the Mandalorian?

Because that’s the name of the game, even if they won’t outright admit it.

In a perfect world for right-wingers, there’s an elite that the law protects, but does not bind. And for everyone else, the law binds them but does not protect them. The hypocrisy is the point.

Rumors at the time were that she was saying transphobic things on set, around Pedro, and even after he tried to educate her she just doubled down.

Why do right wingers never get that one is free to say what they want, the government cannot impression you, BUT you cannot be free of consequences for saying those things in the free market of capitalism and public opinion.

It’s the echo chamber effect that keeps these folks from realizing there just aren’t enough bigots and assholes to support a career after you get fired from a Star Wars TV show.

Which isn’t even getting to the biggest part yet: the actual star of the show she appeared in has become a superstar over the course of it, famously has a trans sister whom he truly loves and supports in every way, and presumably told their bosses: “shut her up or get her the fuck off my show.”  And, not being idiots,

People complaining about the first season being condensed down to 8 episodes are ridiculous. Let’s be real, it had to be condensed down for a better pacing for a live action version of the story. Yes, a lot of the characters mannerisms and charm were trimmed back but it also lead to a better cohesive story IMO.

That’s awesome, I loved the first season and I’m definitely in for more, bring on Toph and THE BOULDER!

His acting performance bothered me, until I found out that, yes, he was directly instructed by Lucas to play the character in that fashion. That was a cinematic crime.

I will point out that it’s well documented that Hayden Christensen was directed by Lucas to be awkward and wooden in most of his scenes. He's not actually a bad actor and the performance he delivered was what the director wanted for some reason that makes no sense to anyone who wasn't a small child at the time they

TERFs, ultimately, only have one rule: what I say goes. They do not give one solitary shit if their ideology is logically inconsistent. So if they have to think themselves into knots to justify their hatred of the Other, they’ll do it with a smile on their face and conviction in their hearts, so don’t get caught

I mean, if a character has the ability to instantaneously change their body at will, I feel like it would be stranger for them NOT to be non-binary.

Even by TERFs own rules, they wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

“Your gender is determined by your biology! Sex and gender are the same!”

“My biology says that I can change

I still love these shows and I will take what I can get.

Or maybe because the original show aired well over a decade ago...we’re all just a little tired of having to watch this same rote character flaw as though it was something new or interesting? Honestly, I think this is a nonstory and likely a change nobody is going to miss. But since y’all made it a story, I’ll make it
