I suspect that some of those listings are from less than reputable dealers. Note that they include all available rebates, so if you’re a first responder in the military who just graduated from college and is a member of the American Quarterhorse Association, you might get that price.

Might.

I mean, Jerry’s Ford has

That’s probably because production of the Fiesta and Focus already ended - the Focus went out of production a year ago, and Fiesta last month.

It’s not so much China on the war path, its our dotard “leader”.

You are correct.

I wouldn’t look to this to prevent metal damage - I’d look at it as a way to prevent injury.  Side impacts have the highest injury/fatality rates of any collisions.  Just a simple curtain airbag has reduced fatality risks by 37-52% per IIHS, but that still leaves a LOT of injuries and fatalities.

Always a good idea.

I mean, Ford won the bidding for Daewoo (after having lost the bidding for Kia despite reportedly having the highest offer). But their mechanics accountants discovered massive oil leaks accounting fraud that massively overstated the value of Daewoo... as in $21 billion overstated the value.... which

So much so that driving one feels like you’re trying to go through a vat of tar...

What AWD minivan did you have?

Because I don’t see current MY V8 4x4 trucks beating current MY AWD minivans.  I mean, hell, I had a loaner AWD CX-9 not that long ago that matched the mpg I get in my FWD I4 Fusion.  But that’s comparing a 2019 to a 2006.  Not a reasonable comparison.

That is no different than a refundable tax credit. These EVs, even after a $7500 credit, are still unaffordable for anyone who isn’t paying at least $7500 a year in taxes.  You’re making it independent of income, but not affordable.

1st:

This exact reason is why Musk’s claims of other automakers just making compliance cars and that Tesla is somehow different is utter bullshit.  Without the need for these credits, Tesla would have gone bankrupt long ago.  Tesla essentially is building nothing but compliance cars on behalf of other makers.

Chevette.. .damnit ...

Give me my lashes now. :)

Man, I’ve done mulch in my Fusion. Pull out the trunk carpet and just wipe down with disinfecting wipes after and the smell is gone.

Nothing. But that’s a poor comparison, a new midsize truck with used full-size. If you want to consider used, you should consider used on both.

Even better, though you’re probably still paying a decent shipping rate (either explicitly or included in the price).

Also, that generally precludes buying a high quality traditional mattress that will last a decent length of time.

I may not have made it clear, but, yes, there are people who would find a Model 3, Bolt, Leaf, etc, affordable after a $7500 discount but not before. But that set of people doesn’t generally intersect with the set of people who would not be able to claim the credit because it wasn’t refundable. That’s my point.

To get

You’re used to the Fiesta ST.

Try driving a Camry. Then drive the Fusion (any trim line - not just the sport). It’s like switching from a Chevelle to a Supra. The current Camry is a disaster for performance. The Fusion is nowhere near as light and nimble as the Fiesta ST, but it performs VERY nicely relative to its

Yeah, good luck getting them to understand.

I need a new mattress. Not having a truck means I rent a truck ($20-25) or pay a delivery fee ($50). I hate paying those fees. BUT, driving around my Fusion (one of the very first off the line, so inefficient by todays standards) instead of an F-150, I save $20-30 a month on

Yep - like solar panels.  When they put the 30% credit out for those, the things were incredibly expensive and only the rich could afford them.  But it increased demand, which allowed manufacturers to switch to more efficient production methods, which cut costs, etc.... now the costs have come down so much they’re

Part of what you are asking for is a refundable tax credit. I’m not saying that’s a bad idea, but if your federal tax bill isn’t greater than $7500 you can’t afford these vehicles even if the credit was refundable. I doubt that would help sales one iota.

But in terms of waiting for your tax credit, that’s really

Certainly we should fund alternative commuting modes.

Hell, Ohio is doing an amnesty program for fees for people with suspended licenses. It is VERY well intentioned, IMO - people need to be able to get to work to be able to make money to be able to afford the fines, get off of public support, etc. They do this every
