Not really, there’s quite a few differences between the two engines. The V10 in the S8 was a lot more like the 4.2 V8 with two extra cylinders. The Lamborghini V10 was, to a very small extent, sort of the same thing. But obviously lots of changes were made to turn it into a high-revving screamer.

Was trying very hard to purchase an 07 S65 until the seller disappeared on me. When I drove it, it changed my life. Truly incomprehensible acceleration at any speed. In the middle of buying an 08 M5 now which is still fairly fast but nothing like the nuclear reactor in the S65. I’m still having torque withdrawal
