This is Jalopnik, every car should be a Miata, don’t you know? Anything that’s not a Miata is stupid and nobody should drive a car that isn’t a Miata. Miata.

...what...
I’m sure you know everything about it already.
I rather like it.
Faster? I doubt it. Handles better? No. Better interior? Not a chance. Also that base Camaro is a pretty stripped down car.

Sounds like you just are more worried about whatever image you’ve tacked onto the car instead of the car itself...
If they won’t give you MSRP pricing then walk and go to another dealer. It’s not a limited production car, and there’s no rule saying you have to have the first one in the US. There is no reason whatsoever that you can’t get it for MSRP.
This will be much faster above 60 than an S3, and will handle much better.
It won’t handle anything like an M2, though. And frankly the CLA45 doesn’t even handle as well as the M235i, the M2 is on another level from that. The M2 will be the car to have in this segment.
It basically has the sub-frames from the M3/4.
Uh...yes? It’s an M2. It’s a full-on M car. The M235i is not.
Slower, doesn’t handle as well, doesn’t look as nice, totally different kind of car :)
Don’t try to use logic in a BMW-bashing thread on Jalopnik, you’ll just get called one of 4 or 5 copy+paste “insults” that have been in circulation for the last 10 years and get some hand-wringing about “feel”, “emotion”, and “connection”.
It’s really not expensive at all...a 335i with the right options is more than this.
Probably pretty hard, the suspension pickup points are different. They don’t just shove taller springs in there...the whole suspension is designed this way.
I mean...what’s wrong with this car? It’s a great car. There’s nothing wrong with it.
Wow, this might be the most idiotic comment on this page. My god.
Implying that parking your car manually somehow burns calories? Jesus...
Quite frankly almost nobody commenting here is worth asking because they will once again copy+paste the typical, knee-jerk luddite answer about how horrible technology is, and how ugly and terrible all new things are and how wonderful and perfect old things are. Pointless.
