My 95 year old Polish Jewish Grandmother was a Holocaust survivor. She passed away last year. I miss her terribly, but right now I’m glad she isn’t here. She spent her entire adult life working for refugee rights. I really think that what’s going on right now would kill her. Literally.

This was the most exciting aspect for me of my local march (Oakland, CA). My kids have been to several marches/protests but the Women’s March was by far the most inclusive, positive, family-friendly event they’ve been involved in.
