Nope. We have them in California too.

Happy birthday!!! And yes, it was truly an incredible day. My nine year old son has been part of a few protests (occupy stuff, local teacher stuff) but he was SO impressed that by this march and that there were so many people and they were so NICE. Proud of marchers all over the world for showing up.

Well, here in Oakland, CA there was a fairly large contingent of sex workers marching.

Hi again, fellow Aquarius! Thanks again for sharing your birthday plan yesterday. I followed your lead and asked friends and family to do ate to PBS and/or Southern Poverty Law Center instead of gifts.

It really warmed my heart to see so many families with kids at the Oakland march. It was doubly cool to see all the signs they made (my kids included!).

Came here to say the same thing! So proud of her.

It’s terrifying to me that this difference isn’t immediately discernable to EVERYONE.

For fucks sake, PRE BORN women??? And they have the gall to make fun of us libruls and our “silly” PC lingo. Smdh.

Man, I’m going to be crying a lot today. This makes me very, very happy.

Oooh, good idea. I may do that too. Happy 40th! I’m right behind you. Tomorrow makes 39.

Happy belated birthday!

That DOES help a little. Thanks :)

Anyone else planning on marching with kids? We’re headed to our local march (Oakland) tomorrow with our seven year old daughter and nine year old son. I’m a little worried about my son in particular because he’s a pretty anxious little dude and I’m worried about him getting overwhelmed. I gave him the option to opt

This interpretation is a nice thing.

Of course he did. *sigh*. He (and Michelle, and Joe) are breaking my heart. Ready to climb unto bed with a bottle of whiskey for an indeterminate amount of time. Tomorrow is my birthday and I’ve never been so NOT into celebrating.

Good point. I’d actually be way more interested in a documentary that examined the parents responding to this ad on behalf of their young daughters. That is some seriously twisted shit.

Your description of your husband reminds me a lot of my dad. He’s a brilliant, engaged, passionate, and funny man. He’s hands down one of the smartest people I know. And yet he finds reading very difficult and not at all enjoyable. I didn’t even realize this until he snapped at me when I gifted him a book for the

Ugh, that poster from earlier talking about how “infantalizing” the hats are really got under my skin, too. I’m already depressed as hell about the upcoming transfer of power. Much as I want to be excited about Saturday’s March, I can’t shake the feeling that it’s all for nought (Saturday is also my birthday, which

Jesus fucking christ. Not surprising, but sO fucked up.

Yep, this. It’s easy to be angry at non-voters. But until we, as a country, make voting easy and accessible to everyone I get it. If you have to travel far, or miss work, or be hassled about your ID why would you vote??
