My parents did the same thing but in Polish. Problem is that kids really absorb language at that age, especially if they’re surrounded by it (as I was, living in a multi-generational, largely Polish speaking family). My brother makes rice cooker pancakes with my kids when they spend time with him. They’re fine, but not what I think of as a pancake. They end up thick and very dense and moist. He just uses boxed mix. Perhaps there are recipes specifically for the rice cooker that would yield better results.
