Also, people don;t seem to grasp what the “end” of this pandemic means. The only true end is a widely distributed vaccine (assuming this virus can even be vaccinated against). ANY “re-opening” of the country before that point will simply start it all over again.

lol these April timelines are a joke. The US hasn’t even hit peak, not even close. The US was slow to react and slow to get it managed properly, and some states still have their head buried in the sand

I came here to say this. If this was just an early proof of concept, and the skate was still in the works, this demonstration is actually somewhat defendable. You also forget that a Tesla does not have an engine under the front hood, that is one or two more passengers right there.

You are clearly overlooking the additional benefit that once this becomes operationalized, situations where children become trapped in caves will be a thing of the past. Every human will have their own tunnel navigating Tesla and our bright future as mole people can really begin. 

You are selling this idea very short.
