I have a turbo diesel/5spd converted Land Cruiser if you get serious about Africa and want to caravan. It is fully prepared to tow you the necessary hundreds of kms to the nearest hut/garage, and has a 50 gal fuel capacity. Already setup for long trips and living. ;)

At what number is a set of cars “limited?”  My estimate is in the 500ish range.

This is a good take.  I’ve been doing this with OEM Toyota rubber wipers across Land Cruisers, pickups and Tacomas for decades.

I saw all kinds of great factory-looking accessories a couple years ago on a Thailand trip. Ranger looks had a lot of variety.  (and Hiluxes, and Mazdas, and VWs, and Mitsubishis, and Suzukis.. and *cry*)

They (can) have a 2.7 L3B 4-cylinder in there.

My fun cars for the past 30 years have been Land Cruisers (early and late model FJ40s, FJ45, FJ62), and now 1st/2nd gen Tacomas. Mostly stock drivetrain except the FJ62 that now has a 1HZ/turbo’d diesel and 5spd. The parts that fail have been brake pads, windshield wipers, and every 100k or so front wheel bearings.

Wait til he finds out about Land Cruisers.  He even has easy access to 70 series over there.

Would be very surprised if he was able to insure that engineering masterpiece.

And they give it only an 18 gallon tank.

Auto + 3.slow... what a find.

Not that you need any more projects, but an FJ55 project would suit you perfectly.

Heck of a navigator he’s got!

Keep that thing.. Send over the 135 hatch!

It’s a toss up. 350 was a common swap back in the day, and now the go to is a 5.3/5.7/6.0L vortec, with whatever combo of advance adapters to make 4L60/80s or a Toyota drivetrain work. No big deal. On the flip side is a relatively untouched, and pretty clean body, but you also look to get unmodified 60s stuff- coarse

Now if VW can morph the Beetle into something more like a sedan, we could have convergence.

If you get the chance, have a wander in the race museum at the Hockenheim F1 track. Fantastic attic floor of bikes in great variety and eras.

Came for this.  To be fair, Justin setup that 2nd gen pickup really nicely and the guy has been racing for decades.. but still it’s nice to see a beat to hell pickup win EMC over big money factory shiny stuff.

I want to do the Mongol Rally in a Jimny.

It’s got a bit of Smokey and The Bandit Firebird Trans Am going on. Gold snowflake mesh wheels would have been sweet.

What would be the discussion had Nico’s car been on fire?
