I'm fairly certain the "newsworthiness" here is the Yale connection, rather than the genders involved.

The ESRB felt that the game depicts sexual violence, and thus required "sexual violence" to be listed on the warning label. That's based on the game itself, not anodized write-up.
I'd explore some of the reviews to get a sense of how well it fits your needs. Here's the AnandTech review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5550/dell…
To be fair, new development will naturally be targeted at above the average market rental, because older buildings are (on average) lower quality than brand new development; as buildings age, they become more affordable.
You know, it had never occurred to me before now, but XCOM with mod support would be AMAZING. Firaxis has had decent mod support in Civilization for a long time now - hopefully they'll include it in the inevitable XCOM sequel.
I'd hope that, in this day and age, there's a decent thermal monitoring setup in there to make sure that a fan failure would result in a shutdown instead of a meltdown.
Or possibly just pure PR - normally you have to pay to get your game's name out in the world, while with Kickstarter you can often get a bunch of publicity at fairly low cost. (Not that I have a particular problem with this, so long as the game does deliver on its Kickstarter promises).
My personal opinion is that MEC troopers are more important.
Australia's a little bit behind the curve on parental leave, but not as badly as America. A good chunk of the US workforce gets zero days paid leave a year. That'd be illegal in most of the developed world.
There's actually a very clear and easy men's rights angle here - if suspicion of rape was falling a specific man, testing the rape kit could reveal that the semen came from another man, thus assisting in clearing an innocent man's name.
Citation please.
You do realise that this is a 60000+ person conference with admission open to the general public, correct?
Who says the issues are being shunted off to other spaces? In past years, diversity issues have been discussed in exactly the same presentation spaces as all other gaming-related issues. (It's a gaming convention, after all). I don't have any inside information, but I'd be deeply surprised if this year all…
Wait. How does a space that's specifically designed to be inclusive - with no evident restrictions on who can show up - qualify as a "segregated lounge"?
NYC pay scale starts at $45k and rises to a max of around $100k. Given the location of the development, I assume any teacher would be working in the NYC system.
Yes, we've had experience with polygamy on a global scale. And globally, it seems to manifest as polygyny, with destruction of life opportunities both for women and "spare" men.
Per the Observer article, it's targeted at "middle income" families - roughly $110000 to $140000 for a family of four. (Think a pair of teachers or equivalent.) I don't know what the deal is in terms of rent stabilization, but I imagine they'd be able to afford the cost of living in the area, at least to start with.
What you're saying is true in general, but not necessarily relevant to the project discussed here.
Right by P.S. 78, too, which is a pretty good public elementary school.
Right. And that's something you scarcely ever see in video games - whether named characters or background characters, pregnant women are vanishingly rare in video games. I'm not saying they should show up in every game (I believe something like 2% of women are pregnant at any given moment in the US), but it really did…
