This has similar issues that communism does. Sounds great in theory but humans are always going to fuck that up. As soon as one person is late there is nobody to dock instead and the port sits idle. Then you have two ships arriving at the same time, then three , then four and we are back at the same situation we have

...yet governments can’t mandate automatic headlights AND TAIL LIGHTS that turn on when it gets dark.

I don’t see this as new. It’s GM’s 50+ year old way of doing things:

That was emotional?

Someone’s cranky...

If you watched the video, you’d know that subsidies largely switched away from systems that paid farmers to not farm, to a system that had price guarantees and large crop insurances discounts.  Not that it makes it any better, but you could at least watch the video, learn a bit, and then make more informed comments.

unimpressed. got it.

There’s a lot more to “environment” than solely emissions (though some sources say Ethanol production emissions are worse than petrochemical), including chemical runoff, monoculture soil depletion, and biome destruction.

Bootstraps!

Car “roofs” are typically different than living spaces. I don’t think anyone would consider this to not have a roof:

Does a soft top not count as a roof?

The best I’ve ever seen a bone stock Sequoia achieve is about 350, which is less than the Cybertruck.

Now playing

I think you are being too critical for too little data. There are other videos out there that show what dual motor models can do with their locking differentials and with just traction control. It seems the new software changed a lot for off-road performance and it made a big difference.

My point is tires are entirely secondary to the primary attributes tested here. That’s why there’s often no mention of what specific tires (other than size) on the vehicles tested here. It’s not going to matter if you’ve got fresh KM02s or if they’ve got 45,000 miles on them. The results are going to be pretty damn

That’s missing the point of a flex test, which is to gauge suspension and not traction.

I hate the Cybertruck as much as the next guy, but I don’t think anyone is buying this truck to do well on an RTI test. I don’t think Tesla ever intended this to do well on it.

Jeeps and rangerovers all over this list.

We have our safety regulations so backwards. We regulate personal safety but care little about mass safety. i.e. you can’t drive that, YOU could be killed in an accident? Versus - Of course you can tow a 40 foot trailer with your 12 foot tall truck with no prior experience because YOU will be okay if you crash.

Assuming I can knock another couple hundred off the price, I’d say NP. Replace or fix the tail light, slap a set of cheap new tires on and put in some sweat equity to clean the car up a bit and drive it all summer. Sell it in August hopefully for near the same price I’ve paid + put into it.
