The cop purposefully ran around the rear of his cruiser, taking longer to get to the actual crime he was there to support, just to shove Guss. Then gets sensitive when called a name, and reverses to show how tough he is, still not supporting the officers there for the chase.

The guy that was arrested was backing up the entire time while the cop was the aggressor.

Who cares? Very clearly Tesla cared since they invented the story ...

Is there $50k worth of gold hidden in the frame rails or something?

98% is kind of a meaningless metric without knowing how well other brands do convincing people to buy similar upgrades after a demo period. I realize that’d be tricky since “software unlocks” is still a relatively new practice in the autoworld, but for all I know, only 1% of BMW buyers upgrade to heated seats after

He genuinely doesn’t seem like a bad person or anything - it just sounds like he thought it looked neat so he bought one. I disagree with him, but I feel for him a little bit. Having people fuck with your car is always gross and awful.

And why should we care what China says? We’re talking about an authoritarian regime that NEVER ever owns up to its own enormous problems, who silences any and all who dares speak even a slight negative against the party, who for years has had their own tariffs, and has built an entire economy on crumbling concrete

If everyone does it, it’s still wrong, but then it’s more worthwhile to do an industry-wide expose than to single Tesla out.

It’s reasonable to ask how other automakers compare. Is this sort of frequent violation commonplace in the auto industry?

Guns don’t steal themselves, people steal guns ok?

Also, the headline makes it seem like someone was turned away from life-saving treatment simply because they were driving an EV - not just taking a kid to a doctor’s appointment.

NACS is no longer under Tesla’s (and thus Musk’s) control. So other charging companies are free to build chargers that meet that standard. I honestly don’t understand your complaint.

Ford was an early investor in Rivian. So Ford clearly had irons in the “electric pick-up” fire well before the Cybertruck was teased.

Are you forgetting that Ford was an early investor in Rivian? It’d be downright silly to assume they weren’t working on an EV pickup well before Tesla revealed the Cybertruck.

I guess but Tesla is still turning a fairly large profit, just not as much. They need to swing to a loss for a while to actually be in peril of going out of business.

So much of this comes off as anti-Tesla, but why is it Tesla’s fault that Ford and Kia are continuing to sell cars with outdated charge ports? I disagree with so much of this article.

the Constitution requires a timely forfeiture hearing”

To be a tiny bit fair, the lower end cars—especially the ones eligible for the tax incentives—are super competitive price offerings for a lot of gas alternatives or hybrid cars. If you are swinging for an environmental daily driver, a Model 3 or Y ain’t exactly a bad choice.

“I’m very pleased.”
