Just because it’s measureable doesn’t mean it’s meaningful. My wife’s car has it, and over the daily commute (when I borrow it) it always says something like 0.004 gallons saved per direction, so 0.008 per day for the commute. So even if we assume we drive it every single day, it’s a whopping 3 gallons over the entire

Is there any “new” vehicle with 3,000 miles that CarMax would give you MSRP for?

They should have been putting variants of the Volt drivetrain in everything from Malibus to Traverses to Colorados over 12 years ago. But nope, they go and keep it in the Volt, then stick it in a pretty poor excuse for a Cadillac, and then re-do the Volt but make it less useable, not pretty enough, and basically don’t

They could; we don’t know for sure. Safety is typically built upon multiple redundant features. I design manufacturing equipment for a living; me telling OSHA that I don’t need a light curtain simply because I have a two-hand tie down isn’t going to cut it when someone get’s hurt. I incorporate multiple redundant

That rule depends entirely on the state; I don’t believe all states have that law.

I’m surprised I haven’t heard of any departments requiring that traffic stops along highways to take place off the highway.  I mean, there’s an exit right there; instruct the driver to take the exit and find a safer place to stop.  I know it’s not always possible; exits can be miles and miles away.  But even the cable

I’m not suggesting complete elimination of road salt. I’m suggesting a combination of:

No motorcyclist is a good organ donor.  If you get killed in a motorcycle accident, most of your other organs are all beat up, bruise or completely ruined.  It’s unlikely that you die in some way on a motorcycle where the rest of your organs are nice a protected.  The term “donorcycles” is dumb.

In a tshirt too.  I’d say this guy is likely to become a meat crayon, but at those speeds he’s more likely to just become a splat... or at least have more in common with a hanging piece of beef rather than a living human being.

If you think that’s crazy, wait until you learn about the Blazer EV.

This isn’t an S2000... you recognize that. Look at all the comments here saying it’s not an enthusiast vehicle. It just happens to be a manual version of a basic/boring vehicle.

The brand (and level within the brand) is what matters most. There’s other things that matter like how many different additives it has for pearls and such or if it’s like a nine-stage color, but generally, if person A is buying replacement paint for their Porsche, the price ain’t gonna matter much if it’s Oak Green

If you don’t accept the concept that only certain vehicles are generally considered “enthusiast” options, then you’re on the wrong site.  There’s a reason vehicles like the Miata are beloved on this site, while an ‘03 Pontiac Aztek isn’t.

I’m honestly surprised that with the rise in concern for microplastics—and that tires appear to be a major source of them—hasn’t lead to calls for improvements on how we contain them from roads, or reduce them from being generated in the first place. I fully support more EV’s, but the fact they wear out tires faster

Sure. But the cost to paint it almost the same if its Mamba Green, or Brewster Green, or Conda Green, or Oak Green, or Signal Green, or Viper Green... if it’s a paint to sample color or not is basically irrelevant in the cost to repair.

It’s an ‘06 CRV. It’s utterly unremarkable to drive. It’s a totally pedestrian experience and boring. Completely the opposite of your example.

Not really, because it’s value is so largely tied to the fact it’s low miles and unused.  You start using it outdoors and it’s value plummets.  So why not just get something new with a warrant?

Wasn’t Toyota not great about the Takata airbag recalls (just like every other car company that was involved)?

I count three that are worse.

They didn’t fix a lot of the complaints though. The only fix is the steering wheel touch capacitive buttons... which entailed them taking the steering wheel from a base model instead.
