Here's a new car!

A few things here.

Can we have one post on the Ford Raptor without this? Just one?

It's kinda funny how you think that "commissioned" means it must fight in wars or blow stuff up. Guess what, being commissioned as a floating PR machine is fan-fucking-tastic. It's not like the military doesn't need good PR to secure funding, recruits and all other sorts of valuable assets.

I get it. The Scrambler is a great bike. I want one. But why no love for other relatively new bikes? Nothing about the cheaper and more powerful FZ-07. Nothing about the very well regarded Indian Scout.

Ideally I'd like to be able to go to a showroom, test drive the model I'm interested in with options that are close-ish to what I want. If I like it, I can head home, build it online, and buy it. Financing could be done online via the car company, or via a bank of my choice. Wait a month or two, and boom, a new car

The TrailHawk is far more capable stock for stock. With modifications it's wouldn't stand a chance though.

Actually, the KL TrailHawk has better break over and departure angles than a stock XJ.

Have you ridden in a heavy duty pick-up or a new Wrangler? They are some of the worst riding vehicles out there. Especially the heavy duty with an empty bed.

You realize that we started debating about a road vehicle, right? The Jeep Cherokee. The one that is typically driven on a road. Not on a farm. Not sold in a stripped out "utilitarian package".

That Land Cruiser 70 wouldn't stand a chance meeting regular crash standards in the US or in Europe. Getting it to have semi-decent emissions (Europe) as well as meeting efficiency standards (US) would be nearly impossible. There is a reason it isn't sold in Western countries.

No... no, no, no.

Shit cars? Is that so?

Jesus fuck that's a wall of text I'm not reading.

How the hell are they going to meet CAFE standards and crash standards if they still build a simple solid axle vehicle. The problem is that vehicles are getting more complex to meeting the more demanding standards.

Where did the Cherokee fail? It's best in class off-road ability? The fact that stock out of the box it's better off road than the original XJ? The crazy sales? Yeah, I'm not really seeing how it failed.

I'm hoping for a sort of Suzuki Samurai type of deal here... that would be pretty slick. But with all the complicatedness of modern vehicles, I kinda doubt it.

Value - 10/10

No SBC? Are you kidding me Chris? You've got to be kidding me.
