So, like Ted Nugent?
So, like Ted Nugent?
Also a Cerebus the Aardvark plotline. One of the best.
If this is a true story, I salute you, sir and/or madam.
Also, I don't think that's what the word "fitful" means.
That sounds hateful?
Not to be too pedantic, but wasn’t the whole point there that Cap wasn’t quipping, so they made fun of him?
Yeah, “impact”, however defined, is one area where they clearly will never match up. But similarly, no album released after, say, 1993, will ever have the impact of Sgt Pepper’s, or even Nevermind. It’s just not possible any longer, given the explosion of offerings and the fragmentation of the market.
Also, I like…
Can you give an example of MCU Cap being quippy? I can't think of any off the top of my head.
Counterpoint: Yes.
Probably? It’s been a while since I’ve watched it, and I shamelessly steal everything.
Well there’s that, plus the fact that it’s not even remotely rare.
But once you get addicted to crack, you'll find that all those other things that used to seem so important fall by the wayside. You just need to learn to reset your priorities.
Yeah, I'm taking my kids so won't be prepared, sadly. I was in Amsterdam a month ago and if only it had been out then….
The MCU shows are all great and frustrating in equal measure. They seem to believe that it's important for all the main characters to give inspirational speeches, the main connecting tissue between the series thus far is a character who exists solely to give inspiring speeches, and some of the plot beats are so stupid…
Why do people always object to him doing it? He liked the movie, gave it a decent grade, spends most of the time talking about things he liked about it. What more do you want?
This joke is increasingly silly and inaccurate.
Secret thing you're not supposed to know: they're better than Star Wars, on average. In every respect except for (a) the novelty of the special effects, and (b) the overarching plot, the worst of the MCU is better than the worst of SW, and the best of the MCU is as good as the best of SW.
Racially, yes, more or less.
"Arya's storyline didn't suck out loud in the books"
Uh… I guess that has something to do with the rest of the thread, but not with anything I took issue with. She’s lighter skinned than the actress who played Misty, and not all Cubans are black. That’s the only thing I was posting about.
