Uh.... *long pause* Six?

We don’t call it that anymore. The more PC term for what was ‘CancerAids’ is now referred to as simply ‘Kinja’.

It’s more MS Paint than MS 13.

Hey Gameological friends: This is my first week taking over WAYPTW (and I’ve already steered it straight into the ditch of my extremely niche tastes, but oh well). Everyone here is feeling the pain of Matt no longer helming our Games coverage (including this column), but we’re committed to keeping this space running

I discovered a fish and tried to name them Osama fin Laden and the game wouldn’t allow it. It’s been dead to me ever since. I killed that goddamn fish out of spite though.

We have replaced her with James Blunt. You’re welcome beautiful.

RED stars.

The Canadians seem to do that bit. About twenty years ago I wanted to rent John Sayles’ “Men With Guns” which is a drama about left and right wing militias in Latin America and how they both prey on villagers despite claiming to be their saviors. Instead I ended up with a Canadian comedy *also* called “Men With Guns”.

Definitely start with the original LP, their post-Dungeon Family ones are still really good but more of a typical Southern proto-trap sound.

Wow, I don’t even remember seeing Total Carnage, but from watching gameplay vids, you’re 100% right. It’s a really awesome, even more pulped up version of Smash TV from the same core developers. I wonder why I didn’t see it back in the day? There were tons of those Capcom Quiz Wizards & Dragons cabinets, but not this?

This is the A.V. Club I miss.

I like my answer better.

That happens to me with every CRPG. My interest peaks during character creation and then slowly wanes until I stop playing. Torment might be the only CRPG I’ve ever completed and when I tried playing it again two different times I had no idea how I persisted the first time. All of the modern Baldur’s Gate-style RPGs

I DO NOT THINK THE MEDIUM IS WELL-SUITED TO “YOU CANNOT ESCAPE FATE.” IT CAN BE INTERESTING, IT CAN BE DARING, BUT I DO NOT THINK THE MAJORITY OF GAMERS WILL EVER FIND IT SATISFYING.

I think you are thinking of Dawson’s Creek.

Thanks for the recommendation! I went in expecting XCOM-ish but it is so much more stealthy. That is going to take some getting used to, since I am not that great at stealth (key exception: Invisible Inc.). That, and I still don’t feel like I completely know what each click or button press is going to actually do— the

Twice.

I feel like it’s kind of a crime not to mention Freddie Foxxx’s (or Bumpy Knuckles’, if you prefer) third verse on The Militia, which is I think a contender for the best straight battle verse of all time.
