I think she would have done something like this, however she would have welcomed refugees and got her messaging right. She would have condemned it from the get go, and will get the Russians in line.

Real conversation with my parents (who voted for Trump):
It’s funny, my husband’s whole family are right wing conservatives. They don’t like immigrants (except his uncle’s wife but “she came in the right way” by applying for political asylum in a country that it really shouldn’t apply to) or people who use benefits (except his cousin who is on food stamps, they feel like…
She wanted to make sure she got back a couple of hundred bucks in taxes.
Nevermind that the economy was better than it’s been in decades
Ehhh... I think the show is pretty good, but if you couldn’t get past the first episode, it’s hard to recommend. It’s pretty representative of the entire show’s vibe and general tone.
What confuses me are the people who are like, “I thought he wouldn’t really do those things.”
Words cannot describe my annoyance at these people who are surprised that Trump is doing all these things that he was obviously going to do. I feel sorry for the guy and his kids, but fuck this lady. Especially since she was also an undocumented immigrant! WTF LADY!
I’m fascinated by the “I did it for the economy” argument. Like incredibly low unemployment rates and rapid job growth wasn’t enough for you? The hell else did these people expect?
I’ve only seen the first two seasons. It’s slow but I feel worth it.
The economy? Sounds like they weren’t doing so bad personally. So she voted to fuck herself over for a bunch of people she probably doesn’t even know? Or, more realistically, they were doing okay but somehow thought that they were magically going to be become rich under Trump.
What infuriates me is that what she learned from all of this is that she thinks she shouldn’t have voted at all. Really? With hindsight, you don’t wish you had exercised your right to vote for someone whose administration probably wouldn’t have ended up encouraging the type of ICE deportations that resulted in tearing…
Or on the soft side of that, we could stop pestering people to have kids and lobby for accessible birth control and abortion. We could dismantle the insane barriers to adoption and celebrate people who don’t want to have kids instead of shaming them.
What’s the harm in helping the environment? Or just NOT helping to destroy it?
There’s a massive fundamental flaw in the reasoning that if everyone starts driving a fuel efficient car it would magically reduce pollution. That’s actually very false. The carbon footprint generated in making “green” vehicles is far higher currently than even a gas guzzler car and only makes up for it if that said…
I change the world by drinking Pepsi.
The only thing the current immigration system has managed to definitively accomplish is the creation of an exploitable underclass. We need to stop pretending that this is a bug and not a feature.
You can also see where people weren’t that good at making clothes. I have a dress which I think is from the 50s that I got from a vintage shop. There was a whole bunch of them which must have come from one person, and all but the one I bought fit horribly. And even the one I got has a weird pleat at the front which…
Maybe one will feature Liam Neesons!
It is incredibly sad how I am no longer surprised or shocked. Read this news this morning while getting ready for work and was just like “yep, seems about right for this administration.”
