Welp, they had my ass in a seat regardless... but I’m glad it’s to see something I genuinely want to see instead of “I need to see this unholy abomination.”

Oh well... that’s certainly a better option. I didn’t realize I could just do that honestly.
I haven’t had McDonalds since I was a kid, but uh... I might buy a happy meal for the first time in like 20 years?
Same. My friend and I are both playing and he keeps making all these sensible choices and trying to ensure the best possible outcomes for all parties.
Same here! There was something about pre-modern internet that added another layer of mystery to Pokemon and that transition from Gen 1 to Gen 2 was genuinely surprising. Any little trickle of information (whether true or not) fueled schoolyard banter with classmates.
I went from no interest whatsoever to “Oh, this is on game pass? eh, I might check it out eventually” to reading this review.
If September wasn’t such a game-heavy month for me and Pokemon wasn’t a month away, I’d definitely be picking this up. But this might be good for that winter stretch between December-March before Animal Crossing comes out as a means to kill time.
I can definitely sympathize too. When I was a kid, damn near everything either scared me or made me feel super uncomfortable. Most of the time, they were super irrational fears? Some examples include:
Smashboy for Smash! It’s in the name
I just restarted last night to try out Zane (really more my speed compared to Moze) and as much as I do love pistols and shotguns, even I’m tired of them being all I can find.
Aside from the one kid, no one’s terrified of the goose... which tells me, it’s far less of an asshole than real geese-- especially the Canadian variety.
I love how friendly the goose is, despite being a total dick. For a true experience, there needs to be a dedicated “hiss” and “poop” button
I’m playing Link’s Awakening for the first real time (never made it that far on 3DS), but I’m well aware of the game’s premise/ending— everything’s mostly new to me. I just brought the little pink ghost home and, at 31, it kinda broke my heart. I had stumbled upon the house early on and wondered what the story was...…
Honestly, for the last couple years, Black Friday (at least, around me) hasn’t been terrible. We generally stick to low volume stores and don’t generally have any major goals in mind when out.
Well, this is likely to pan out like the 3DS did-- my wife will be enamored by AC for about half a year. At which point, I will then have another handheld system with which to play Pokemon and trade myself.
It sounds silly but back when ACNL came out, my wife tried it out on my 3DS and... we went out and bought another 3DS a day later because she went from no interest to obsessed in that time.
I’ve been checking the tracking on my Dreamers edition all week hoping that it gets here tomorrow so I can spend all weekend playing. Reading glowing reviews is not helping the anticipation lol
For real though. Even when I’ve seen/read anything on what they actually were thinking, I’m still like, “okay but... what? why?”
Fair enough— it IS very samey. That’s not to say I’m not enjoying it or anything... but it definitely just feels like more 2.
Oh for sure, that thing’s a nightmare! I suppose it’s easy for me to critique a controller’s design 25 years after the fact and with no experience in design whatsoever... but geeze, what the hell were they thinking?
