Just had nearly the same thing happen, only I got fired (on September 11!) and my boss is still there. Sucks, but I'm trying hard to come out from under all the bad feelings that piled up over the three years I was there and focus on positive things for the future.

The worst is when you get hated BECAUSE you are competent. I had a job last year where everyone hated me because the Head Management hated me because she knew I was more qualified and educated and she was intimidated. It was soul crushing because I did not know it at the the time. It all came out when she got fired…
