Something I’ve noticed is that the supposed “house style” takes on new elements with each writer/director. With Whedon it got snappier and more ensemble-based; with Gunn it got more vibrant and irreverent; with Waititi it got dryer. It’s like a creative Katamari.

I am a life long comic book nerd but up until a few years ago if someone said “The Eternals” I would say “Who?”.

We make our own funn.

I think Pete’s still living with his tattoo-removal doc now that he discovered he could be marketable.

His timeline seems a little too contrived to be completely true.
Isn’t there a thing about how liars give you way too many details about their untruths?

A lot of celebrities are erratic and unlikable, it's just more glaring when they traded on the "aren't I likable and normal?" phenomenon.

It don’t mean none unless Munn’s got a bun, hun.

Munn has bun in ov-un.

Or he was pushing 40 and changed his mind. Honestly might be why he and his wife split. I’m in the same age group and a lot of peers I knew were “I’m never getting married or having kids” in there 20s and 30s but most changed their tunes near 40.

Yeah, I always feel bad for these celebrity relationships where only one half has a fandom and a big platform. He gets to talk about their relationship incredibly publicly, and she can’t really respond in the same way.

I hope he’s doing well but in an ideal world, a relapse, a divorce and expecting a baby for the first time, aren’t events that should happen this close to each other. It probably looks worse because we all learned almost everything at once instead of how it was unfolding but still... I’m worried for all parties

He’s in his first year of sobriety and he not only starts a relationship, but they’re going to have a child? ... I REALLY hope this works out!!  I sincerely, genuinely do.

There are a few more about how he hates being around kids.

Totally get everyone’s sentiment in the comments that we can’t judge his personal situation. But like. Am I the only one whose opinion of Mulaney has significantly fallen as a result? It’s one of two things: either he’s still in the throes of recovery and all of this is some seriously disturbing short-term

Couple miscellaneous thoughts:

I’m gonna try and not knee-jerk assume I know what the hell went on here, and other people shouldn’t, either. I know I’ve seen one group of people insist Anna was the villain here because John (and male celebrities in general) could never do anything wrong, ever, and I’ve seen another

Okay, fine. This is a lot to happen to a person in the space of slightly more than a year.

Best intervention scene of all time. “I don’t write nothin’ down, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. You’re weak. You’re outta control. And you’ve become an embarrassment to yourself, and everybody else.”

It certainly seems like he’s making it all about himself, trying to ease his way back into the public consciousness: and lucky him he’s got a friend like Seth Meyers who not only staged his intervention, but has a platform for him to come on and re-introduce himself. He’s luckier than the vast majority of celebs, let

Mulaney just perfectly sticking the landing of ‘30 something that says they don’t want kids so they buy a dog they overly lavish and constantly compare to a human child only to have a kid just before 40' that every city dwelling white person does.

This is...a lot to happen to a person in the space of less than a year, and I’m still worried about the guy. (In a hopefully non-parasocial, not really any of my business sort of way.)
